Happy Feature Friday Folks!

Hope you all had a fantastic week! It's finally time to dive into this long awaited movie :) I watched this on Amazon, for those who are curious.

I must apologize in advance...I missed the end credit scene. I swear I partially scrubbed through the credits and just didn't see it! I'm the worst at this...it's a horrible talent I know. Please forgive me!

As always, thank you so much for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, take care and stay golden.

Yay! It's finally time to go ape! Happy Feature Friday Nat. Been looking forward to this all week 😊 Don't worry. Missed end credit scenes and Nattie go hand in hand. But you're not 100%, so you get a free pass 😄 "Leave no monkey behind!" ha ha Nat. Loved your reaction tonight. When the Fox logo started you were up and running. It is a fun movie with some good emotional moments. The next movie is my favourite of the 3 and I would love to see your reaction to it too. And I still really hope that you will get to watch the original 1968 film at some point. Thanks for your video today Nat, and for your great Gen V reactions this week. Hope you've enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday trip. Have a brilliant weekend. Take care Nat 💛

Rey

Nice a good way to soend my lazy Friday morning

Danishprince

Perfect way to spend the evening!

Anonymous

Definitely don't need to see the originals to watch this movie. But there are A TON of call backs and Easter eggs to the originals, including the story of Caesar, that are cool and fun to notice when you watch these newer ones.

LightsCameraJake

This whole series is great! hope you watch it. Also you missed the mid credits scene.

Mastervodo

Apes Apes Apes Apes Apes!

Baggie Mark

Hi Nat Hope you Tyler and the doggis had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. Looking forward to this reaction and the festive movie reaction.. Keep the great reactions coming.. 😁🦧🦧🦧

Skizane

Sorry you don't feel well Nat. I'm sending you an e-hug. *squeeeeeeze*

K.N.

Funny story: I went to rent this on Amazon today, and saw that I had already bought the UHD box set for the trilogy a year ago. Found it unopened in my collection and redeemed the digital codes instead. Forgot how much I loved these movies!

Shaun Bloom

Health is important, both physical and mental. Thank you for sharing. A good community is one that cares so I hope this community makes you feel loved and cared about. Hope you feel better, I will pray for you ❤️🙏

Danishprince

"I'm expecting monkeys to take over".... Monkeys...

Baggie Mark

Hi Nat You never have to apologise to us, we're just glad to be here to listen to you.... 🤗🤗

Kyle Turning Robe

You missed mid credit scene it only moments away before you stop watching it lol

Andy

Yeah on a rewatch it’s apparent that the human characters are not that deep. Except John Lithgow as the dad. He brought a great vulnerability to that character.

Mike Hell

LOL the amount of times she says "Monkeys" when she means "Apes" is gonna drive me insane! But still a fun reaction. I hope she gets a chance to check out the other 2 in the series! Rise is definitely sillier than Dawn and War, which are both much more serious films, and actually have better actors in them (sorry, James Franco, but you're no match for Keri Russel, Gary Oldman, and Woody Harrelson).

Andy

If you’re continuing with the rest of the movies, keep an eye on Maurice the orangutan. After Caesar he’s the best character ❤️

K.N.

In my opinion Rise is actually the weakest of the trilogy. The sequels are amazing and absolutely elevate the series. I imagine they're the main reason people wanted you to check out this film, so yeah including them in upcoming polls would be great. I have a feeling they'd win pretty easily.

Slick447

Great reaction Natalie! If you have some spare time, I recommend checking out some of the behind the scenes of this film. It's over 10 years old but still pulled off some impressive effects. Plus I just enjoy seeing Andy Serkis' acting before it's digitized.

TokyoLopez

lmao i just kept repeating what franklin said, they’re apes, but yeah the humans are pretty stupid, hope you feel better, thanks for this watch

Anonymous

One line of dialogue that you might have missed was when one of the scientists noted, after they made the virus more potent, that apes have much stronger immune systems than humans do. That serves to explain a lot of what happened to Franklin, as well as, sadly, the human race. I really hope you get around to watching the sequels soon. Each gets better, in my opinion.

Curaitis

No need to apologize Nat. We are happy to have you anyway. If you think you need some time to recharge im pretty sure most of us could and would understand it. Most important is your own health so take care if you feel like that. I think that Andy Serkis is without a doubt one of the most talented actors right now. His work as Caesar or Gollum was amazing. As others already wrote, the older movies are not mandatory at all but i think you would really like them if you decide to watch them, still no need to. Their Make-up and Costumes were phenomenal for the time. Never forget, we love you and support you.

Em McG

Hi Nat... 3 words... "Post... Credits... Scene..." It's all about the post-credits scene. I kept watching and we see something at the very end. It is must see 🙂

Andy Jordan

Glad you said it before me. I was on the fence about it myself. :-)

jamie jones

Gotta watch dawn now. Its a rare much superior sequel.

Jayson Phillips

I love all the tributes to the original movie. (Charlton Heston on the TV, Dirty ape reference, Zera reference etc...

Marty McGee

Don't minimize caffeine withdrawals. The fatigue and headaches can be rough. I know it's probably more than that, but they definitely are part of it. Hope you get to feeling better soon! As others have said, this is the weaker of the 3 movies so far (next one is coming out soon). I had forgotten all the animal cruelty scenes in this one. It was a difficult watch. Definitely enjoyed the apes more than the humans which was probably intentional. Caesar is for sure the main character. The story is his arc, not Will's. I'm sure you've watched it by now, but the end credit scene was purely set up for the next movie. I wish they had done more setup in the film though. The real threat to humanity wasn't made real clear. Loved your reaction and hope you continue with the franchise!

Razor Bikini

Yeah Rise is a good movie but it’s really the sequels directed by Matt Reeves that make this trilogy special. Hopefully you’ll watch Dawn soon, that one’s my favourite.

Lemuel Daher

Okay I can already tell — she is NOT prepared for the sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Juan Colorado

I hope you do continue with the trilogy, it's one of my favorite trilogy, Rise is the weakest in the trilogy

Daniel McGuinness

Andy Serkis is a legend! I remember the conversation around these movies is how he should’ve won an Oscar but was never nominated because his role is entirely motion-capture, which is such bs because that’s the REASON he should’ve won! The amount of emotion he puts behind Caesar and the performance… crazy. Justice for my boy 🏆

Jason Dolan

Hope she didn't miss the post credits scene!

Jason Dolan

Man, someone on Natalie's team needs to let her know if there's a post credits scene or we HAVE To let her know in these polls when she posts them if there's a post credits scene to help her out, we NEED to take that on, because that is a HUGE plot point that sets up the next movie that she is missing!

Anonymous

Gotta watch that post credit scene

Nicholas Sulikowski

Three things: -Ho jeez. check out that mid-credits scene! It sets up the next of the reboot movies. -Honestly, I feel bad for that one neighbor. Because from his perspective, a strange chimp appears in his yard, and he got scared because chimps have scary levels of strength. (Did he have kids? I'm not sure.) Then some guy plows his car into both the cars in front and behind it, causing damage. And as he flips about insurance and cops, a chimp attacks and bites his finger off. Then later a guy snooping around the neighborhood infects with a pandemic level pathogen.) The universe seems to hate him. Thought it was funny to see that particular actor responsible for what happens in the mid-credits scene. As Lt. Col. John Sheppard would say, "Dammit, Rodney!" /Stargate Atlantis You really really really need to watch the original Planet of the Apes. In fact I feel like you should have watched it FIRST in order to maintain the twist. But even so, it's a damn good movie to watch sooner than later. In fact, there were so many dialogue references to it that were in this movie.

Shen V

Natalie is one of my favourite YouTube monkeys. :) Hey, this is another time where you and we watched 2 different movies, sort of. Within the reaction, without the virus spreading in the end credits, it never quite dawned on you that this is the Planet of the Apes now. The whole planet. You were kinda reacting to a movie titled "I'm sure humanity will be fine, surely". That's not a criticism, that gave the whole thing a nice meta layer. I was sitting here grinning at perfectly innocuous statements, that mean something very different, when you know what happens to all/most humans. Patreons, she ... she doesn't know how the Charlton Heston one ends, does she? On the beach? With the thing? Nobody spoil it. :)

Berry

Funny thing, another Ridley Scott movie (Prometheus, the Alien prequel) has even dumber scientists in it. But anyways, good movie and the sequel is even better. Apes Apes Apes.

Berry

Orangutans are the best of the great apes and that's including humans.

Daniel McGuinness

The “Take your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape!” line is a reference to the OG planet of the apes, it also parallels that scene because in the original that was the scene where all the apes were like “Oh shit this human can talk!” And in this movie it’s the scene where the humans are like “Oh shit this ape can talk!” This movie slaps, underrated in this franchise!

Riolkin

One of my favorite "over-acting" moments in the history of cinemas. GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL! hahaha so good

Michael G. Munz

Fun fact: "Too Many Monkeys" was the working title of the original Planet of the Apes movie. ;)

Keith Jacobsen

"So...Nat's just gonna keep calling them monkeys, huh? I see." (jk) Fun reaction, hope your lymph nodes are ok. The original 1968 film is a classic, but I understand if it doesn't quite fit your channel or you don't think you'd get enough views.

Anonymous

Honestly I think you should watch the OG one at some point. it would have been better to see it first, as there were a couple nods setting it up in this one (the mission to mars, and the "Lost in Space" headline), and the twist that it's actually Earth was one of the best in sci-fi history

Anonymous

Terror and death aside, the climax of the movie must have been a pretty weird day for a lot of people. Can you imagine being an employee at that random office that had a tidal wave of chimps flow through and wreck things? Or one of the mounted officers at the bridge having dinner with their family later? "How was work today honey?" "Oh, I clubbed a bunch of chimps on the Golden Gate Bridge. Y'know, regular Wednesday."

Daniel McGuinness

It’s also interesting to see the apes personalities already take shape before the ALZ-113 Maurice’s intelligence and gentle nature, Koba’s violent streak 👀 first time rewatching since I’ve seen it and it really holds up

Ian

Sorry you're not feeling well, gut health is no joke (trust me I know haha). Take time off if you need it, last thing any of us want to see is you not enjoying yourself.

PrayTellCaesar

This is the only one I've seen but I hear the rest of this series is really good. Hope you check them out in the future so I can watch along haha

Anonymous

hope you get back to normal Nat!

Anonymous

The rest of the series is even better. Andy Serkis is so, so good.

Logan Kerlee

Super enjoyed the reaction. It was a lot of fun seeing her take on everything throughout. In my DETAILED comment below that I'm posting, it'll just be me commenting on her reaction of the film as it plays.

Logan Kerlee

I'm a fan of the ORIGINAL film but the sequels to it are damn weak. I'll always prefer the original film to any of the others. I've already watched this and the others in this series. (this series is pretty fantastic though!! I'm only talking about the ORIGINAL series of films) Caesar is FANTASTIC and Andy does a phenomenal job playing the role. lmao, appreciate the heads up before the movie began Natalie. I've noticed that kinda thing off and on. It isn't a problem, know that I'm not upset with ya. I just prefer you to be in a better headspace for the reactions. lmao, know that it's all good! <3 lol, you're great Natalie! My runtime was a bit different than yours - kinda odd, but whatever. You'll see sad later, Natalie. This is nothing. Prepare for heartbreak Natalie. John Lithgow does a great job playing this character. If I was in a situation like this with my mother who's currently losing herself to dementia. If I was his son, I would immediately take that drug to my mom. If her dementia could be fixed I would be absolutely for it! One thing that irks me about your reaction - you're calling Caesar a monkey when he isn't a monkey. He's an ape. There's a difference between the two. Apes don't have a tail as well as the shape of ape bodies are very different to that of a monkey. xD Sorry, that's one of the things that really irk me. Chimps are VERY strong. You felt that the dialogue was cheesy? I really enjoyed it. I didn't feel that it was cheesy or over the top. I definitely feel that this movie has a whole other side to it that you aren't acknowledging and being honest, it's a huge bummer that you aren't recognizing it. I'm talking about the humanity of the apes vs. the humanity of humans. The kindness, the mercy. Caesar showed restraint multiple times throughout the movie, when he could have hurt someone or attacked somebody but instead he chose to remain docile. He did this in service to his friend, his brother, Will. I'm really looking forward to you reacting to the next films in the series. Yes, as someone that wanted you to react to the originals, I'd of course still want you to revisit them sometime in the future. If only to watch the first movie. xD Yeah, no, it REALLY drives me crazy hearing you refer to the apes as monkeys. lmao, for the next movie PLEASE CALL THEM APES! xD xD xD I really enjoyed watching this with you, for sure! :) Looking forward to more in the future.

LightsCameraJake

I need to get into Nats head to understand how any of this was "cheesy' because im honestly confused at some of your takes on some of these films recently. Not every movie is going to be some shakespearean dialogue masterpiece lol

Logan Kerlee

lol, just realized that Patreon doesn't allow book long comments anymore. Kinda disappointing, but whatevs. I really enjoy writing a LONG response and posting it here. Bah!!

Psychotic Panda

if you do not finish this amazing series i will cry.

Diiirk706

Seriously sohhh Fkn annoying/disrespectful, the way she keeps calling them monkeys instead of Apes...sigh Also NOTHING is ''over the top '' it's all incredibly well done/written. We, also again, have Natalie having Z E R O idea what the word ''cheesy'' actually means or how to use it....ho hum...

Jacob King

I’m not a fan of this movie but I enjoyed your reaction. I think what makes it not work (for me) is the same problem the Star Wars prequels have which is the need to come up with a plot that fits the mythos of the original. The ludicrous actions of the humans are all in service of explaining why the apes take over the planet which is not something anyone asked for or needed. The other big problem is the late 2000s obsession with grounded and realistic fantasy which simply does not work if you are going to have a talking chimp. It also doesn’t follow from anything they have set up and is physically impossible and makes no sense. I’m all for talking animals but don’t give me this tedious virus subplot if you’re going to also have a magical deus ex machina. There is also the issue that this movie has no point of view or message which is a definite misunderstanding of the source material. The scenes of the ape escape are fun and that probably should have been the whole movie.

jamie jones

“Its not their natural ecosystem, theyd be an invasive species.” Is that different than our species. Also the post credit scene was like 10 seconds after the credits started lol

Peter Heine

Great reaction nat, please react to the rest of the movies at some point. Maybe we can see a reaction to movie nr. 4 "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" witch will release on may 24 2024

Anonymous

Sorry you weren't feeling well, hope you get better soon! Really hope that you continue on with this trilogy cause they honestly only get better as you go, one of my favorite recent trilogies for sure. Andy Serkis continues to give a fantastic performance and Caesar's journey is great to watch.

lance tophoj

Hope you watch the next ones as well

Marcus Powell

There is a Mid-Credits seen. Check it out.

Marcus Powell

Great reaction. I think this movie was great and I think you would enjoy the rest of the series.

Cade Gayagoy

Definitely agree that the human stuff was silly. This is one of my favorite movie trilogies but it is mostly for the next two where it really goes further towards the apes as the main players.

Robert Emmett

The next 2 films focus more on the apes but they also do a good job of making the humans more interesting characters even the villains. Matt Reeves directs the next two and he really makes the focus more on the characters

I don't understand Natalie's ethics sometimes. Main character's dad was literally dying. And Natalie would have had him just sit there and watch? Drugs take many many years to get approved, and his dad did not have that time. Plus he waited years before giving it to his dad didn't he? He was already taking care of a healthy chimp that had zero side affects to the drug. I think it might just be that she'll have a knee jerk this is bad reaction and then stick to it without thinking. The human trial literally would have either been college kids looking for money. Or other Alzheimers patients...so seriously how is giving it to his dad unethical??? Even when Cesar's mom freaked out, that wasn't because of the drug. That was because she was defending her child. And then you know.. Natalie gets mad that Cesar likes to wear clothes... Yeah Natalie just confuses me sometimes. But, it's still a great reaction. Hope she feels better soon though. I know how miserable it is to work while sick and whole burnt out. It's pretty shitty.
