I was taken back at how she didn't seem to notice how the world has completely changed. There's electricity, cars, blimps, and skyscrapers now and Nat didn't seem to care or acknowledge that at all.

I always found it weird that some people made a big deal out of that when 70 years ago the fire nation already had basic war versions of several of those things already. the only technological advancement needed was to make it work without firebending as the fuel source.

“Is it a dog or a polar bear?” ITS A POLAR BEAR DOG 😆 the animal hybrids in avatar are one of my favourite parts of the show lol I’m glad you’re watching this show, a lot of people seemed to have a problem with Korra when this aired because of her cocky attitude - which is deliberate, in ATLA the last waterbender avatar, Kuruk, even described himself as a “go with the flow” type avatar. Plus, it makes for much better character development when she inevitably get humbled 😂 No spoilers, but each season has a particular theme beyond just the elements, for example season 1 has already started with the theme of equality. It’s not The Last Airbender, but the show is better than people give it credit! Excited for the watch-along 😊

After you just finished Daredevil i did NOT expect this. I really hope you like LOK, i know it gets a bad rep but it has so much to offer and I love it!

Korra is an interesting character who does start off pretty annoying -- by design. Her character arc is long but rewarding. She is the opposite of Aang in the sense that she is already quite powerful from the get-go. That power has made her cocky and brash. She is also very naive and sheltered. Where Aang was humble and had to grow into his confidence, Korra needs to learn patience and to reign in her impetuous nature. Throughout the four seasons, Korra learns many lessons the hard way -- sometimes quite brutally -- but her development into a thoughtful, responsible leader who recognizes the value of friendship and the wisdom from her mentors and teachers is one of the best aspects of this series.

i am very happy you are watching this! to re-iterate a statement above, they kept randomly getting told they were getting canceled at some point each season, given which, they made an amazing show. I think you're going to really like it once you get a few episodes in

Your in luck there making more Avatar animated shows soon! Same animation company I think too and then netflix is trying to make a live action series. I love Legend of korra the fights are great and its semi more adult theme wise, And they have different villians each season I enjoy it

I enjoy it and I like that its semi adult themed , made for teeangers and Amon and Zaheer are badass villians Korra gets wrecked this show more than Ang did

One of my favorite pieces of lore in the Avatar universe is that every Avatar is an opposite of the one that came before it in one way or another. Without spoiling too much of other avatars and this show, you see how Korra is very confident and aggressive where Aang was humble and passive. There are other similarities/opposites too but that’s for another day

I love Korra. I think both series have their own merits and LOK is clearly meant for more mature audience. You have the same reaction towards Korra as you did with Sokka at the beginning xD

I almost subbed to watch-along to the first show. Maybe I'll finish this show now that I have subbed. I enjoyed the first season of Korra, but further into the show it wasn't as good as the first show.
