I think the best part of the reaction today was when the murder puppies were just tearing people's limbs off, and she's smiling and saying "Good bois!"

Love Nat not getting the bro code. Just guys being dudes. Would've done the same thing if I got to meet John Wick haha

Never, ever write off nor underestimate a Malinois. Brilliant dogs and some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met and/or worked with, yet also the last thing I'd ever want to be on the bad/receiving end of. That breed is something else.

The guys he didn’t kill are from a movie called The Raid. Every action movie of the last 10 years is a footnote to The Raid. They’ve been on your channel before, Han Solo ripped them off in The Force Awakens. I think you would enjoy the Nicholas Cage movie Pig if you haven’t seen it. It is basically John Wick if they used emotional vulnerability and family trauma instead of weapons.

the 2 smaller guys fighting john is a classic masters facing off. people who have no other equal and demand a challenge for challenge's sake. they accept defeat when they are beaten. also kinda surprised you forgot about central park carriage rides. personally i don't think john wick are any good as movies, but they are outstanding stunt performances. i respect that keanu is so close with the stunt community and showcasing such impressive work

That knife fight in the first 20 minutes was my favorite part. It's just absolute chaos with knives and axes flying.

djKENTO

one of the most impressive visual effects scenes in the film because none of the breaking glass is real at all.

I think the first one works well as a movie. The emotional launching point of his dog getting killed is a great way to get us on his side as he murders a lot of people in a creative way. Then for every other movie (I haven't seen 4) it turned into a demo reel for stunt actors. Which when watched in a vacuum are really impressive. Amazing locations and great choreography. Perfect for YouTube highlights but as a movie it becomes exhausting.

Pig is brilliant. I thought I was getting into a John Wick ripoff and was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful and vulnerable film.

Also remember and major Props for the Director of the Franchise, Chad Stahelski, he was a former Stuntman and Stunt Coordinator who worked with Keanu (and Laurence Fishbourne) on the Matrix movies. Fun Fact: Chad was the body & stunt double for Brandon Lee in the faithful movie, The Crow (for those old enough to remember).

Very awesome reaction by Nat, as always! Wick movies are just so entertaining especially to those who enjoy really good action sequence LOL!

@myles away there is a common movie trope: save the cat, and its opposite kicking the dog. both are used as a quick shorthand to quickly put the audience on the characters side or an instant villain. the literal ones are superman (1978) saving a cat out of a tree or mr. incredible doing the same. for the kicking there is patrick bateman in american psycho and paul dano in prisoners. however it doesn't literally have to be pets or animals. often they are replaced with innocents, kids or women.

Razor Bikini

“Every action movie of the last 10 years is a footnote to The Raid.” Let’s not get carried away, there are other action movies in the last 10 years that are similarly noteworthy. It is for sure one of the most influential and iconic action films of the 21st century tho.

Neo: "Guns. Lots of guns."....John Wick: "Guns. Lots of Guns."🤣 I love that!!

Charles Semon

"Para Bellum" is latin and means "Prepare for war" It's typically used in the phrase "Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum" which means "If you want peace, prepare for war" So, one can surmise that the them of the movie is fighting for his peace which actually makes perfect sense

2023-05-11 22:53:38 I didn’t know this, but I heard apparently during the fight scene with the knives at the beginning, all the glass they were breaking was all CGI lol Also there are a couple spin offs coming out: a series that will be on Peacock this year in September, called “The Continental” about a young Winston in the 1970s. And a movie called “Ballerina”, coming 2024 with Ana De Armas, centering around a Ballerina from the Ruska Roma trying to avenge the death of her parents. John Wick, Winston, and Charron will all make an appearance in smaller roles, and I heard it takes place between John Wick 3 & 4.
