Some comments on the show vs the comics. The title comes from the title of one of the comics (as many of them do). Butcher's dad was actually a baker, which is why the nursery rhyme is used here. You asked why his mother didn't leave him. In the comics, Becca, who was a social worker, was able to convince her to leave him, which was one more reason for Butcher to love her. Also, remember the comment that Butcher made about how he wanted to know when his dad died so he could come and piss on his coffin. He actually did that in the comics. It turned out that the actor who played Black Noir actually had a severe tree nut allergy. Karl Urban was the one who suggested that it would be interesting to have Noir have the same tree nut allergy as the actor. Remember back when he went to Anika and she offered him an Almond Joy, and he made her throw it away?
