Actually, I'm pretty sure you'll realize this yourself after watching DD season 2 and see there was no requirement to watch Jessica Jones.

Personally, I prefer season 3 to season 1, so I would highly recommend completing this series. what you choose to watch between S2 and S3 is up to you. Through Jessica Jones' show, you've already met Luke Cage, leaving only Iron Fist as needing introduction, but Matt, Luke, and Jessica all don't know who Iron Fist is, so his (weak imo) series is not needed to watch Defenders. I personally am not a huge fan of that show, but definitely sets up the S3 arcs Matt, Foggy, and Karen. But there are supercuts on youtube if you want to skip any irrelevant info (as I do in my multiple DD rewatches...).

Trent_88

Agreed, all the seasons of DD are great, but I honestly believe S3 to be one of the best seasons of any series.

I agree! I like first 3 episodes of The Defenders, but don't care that much about the reaction. DD season 3 however is one of my favourite things of all Marvel.

Daniel Drew

I think for you, it would be best to only watch Iron Fist season 1, then Defenders, then Daredevil season 3. And mention Iron Fist just cuz the plot of Defenders spins out of that show and Daredevil mainly. Whereas JJ season 2, Luke Cage seasons 1 and 2 and Iron Fist season 2 all follow their own stories. Though Iron Fist season 2 is better written and acted than season 1. I apologize for season 1 if you decide to watch it. But narratively, watching those two makes sense before watching Daredevil season 3 after you finish this season.

Kate Herzig

Honestly, you should just quickly youtube Iron Fist and Luke Cage season 1 recaps and get to The Defenders and DD season 3. Honestly just knowing Luke is good enough. He's fantastic and the first half of his show was set up to be amazing, but it all falls apart at that halfway point. DD season 3 is, imo, a perfect season of television and I think you'd really regret not watching it. There's really no need to watch everything else. There's only 1 other show you should watch and you don't need to watch the other shows to watch that one. 😎

You can technically just watch DD S1 -> DD S2 -> Defenders -> DD S3. The beginning of Defenders gives you pretty much the rundown of who the other 3 are anyway. No need to watch them all. Especially Iron Fist..

Troy B.

I can't remember how season two of Jessica Jones was, that might be worth watching, regardless, but don't quote me on that.

JJ S02 was a disappointment but then it rebounded with S03. (I think JJ S01 did poorly re Natalie's youtube video hits, so S02 is probably not happening anyway.)

As someone who also watched all the then-on-Netflix shows, I agree with this, too.

Eddie Green

I still hope for Nat to watch JJ2&3 at some point. But I agree they don't need to come before Daredevil S3.

Keith Jacobsen

Whatever you choose, don't PUNISH yourself, Nat.

I definitely felt the same way/feel the same way about the Marvel stuff. It was honestly very difficult for me to continue with Daredevil even though I loved the show, just because I found out that I had to watch like what? 5-6 seasons of other hour-long shows just to be caught up? It's not the easiest to get into, especially if you like...you know, have a job, or anything else to do outside of watching TV 24/7. That being said, it's totally worth it to stick with Daredevil (Defenders is a must-watch to know what's going on though. Not an awful series either)

Leegion

tbh I didn't even watch any of the other stuff except The Punisher, it honestly didn't harm my viewing experience if I'm honest.

Sam

even if you don't watch the other shows, Daredevil season three is worth the time put in to watch it. It more of less stands alone as long as you have a brief spark notes idea of what happens in Defenders. All said, please watch it. For me it is some of the best TV I've ever seen.

N.A. Vreugdenhil

Strongly agree with the others here. There are cool moments in all the shows, but Daredevil S1-3, Punisher S1-2, and Jessica Jones S1 are a cut above the rest. Watch what you want to watch!

John Couteau

damn nat already going against her own poll, gotta watch them all!
