the writing is something this season. gotta hold my tongue till the end.

"I wonder if they're gonna be pissed at Butcher" That's pretty much the default state for any Butcher plot line...

Essero Eson

The most unbelievable part of this episode is when we learned that Homelander saved the baby he had been jealous of for all of season one. I really hope that baby comes back in a big way for Homelander later because it makes no sense for him to save that baby unless he has a plan for it later. Homelander may be a psychopath, but he's far from stupid.

Isn't Komiko a mute?

Natalie, when you point and say "You!", I point at myself and say "Me?!" because I want to participate in the cringe.

Alan Felicia

Nat's reaction to Raynor's death scene = Priceless! So Awesome!

Joe Blankenship

That's Aya Cash! Stormfront. I first saw her on "You're the Worst", a really funny, underrated and underwatched show that was on FXX. She's so good in it. I was so glad when she showed up on The Boys. Wasn't expecting her. Oh, and strap in, this season is gonna be a doozy. They're all doozies, really.

Keith Jacobsen

Yeah Nat, you're thinking of Operation Paperclip. As the European Campaign in WW2 was coming to a close, the allies starting divvying up and sparing some Nazi scientists the rope in exchange for their work on all sorts of sciences, especially rocket technology, kicking off the Space Race. And yeah, Starlight does have a "boner" phone. 🤣

Athenor

Thanks Nat,great reaction, I been voting for the boys because I wanted to rewatch it,and I'm happy to get into the content you haven't seen yet.

Chris Biebel

The reason that Starlight is in her sexy uniform is because she lost a lot of her original bargaining position that she originally had due to Homelander finding out she was with Huey. She's basically walking a thin line trying to make sure Homelander can trust her. If you want to know why Butcher was dressed the way he was, you can watch "Butcher, a short film" in the Amazon extras, although you might want to wait until after watching the 2nd episode because it spoils the opening minute or two of the 2nd episode (Basically starts with the exact same scene for the first minute or so as the episode).

The deep doesn't really know how Translucent died, but translucent was also a creep like the deep so its safe to assume they may have been bros. Plus the deep is potentially stupid enough to believe what homelander says

Homelander telling ashley to say super villian and everyone liking it, and then doubling down on saving America, even though the people didnt care for it, is just to show just because he has a good idea, doesnt mean they all are, and just how out of touch he is with actual people.

John Cedar

It actually is a good idea, since Homelander's base is religious conservatives, far-right nationalists, and fascists who would definitely appreciate "America First" over anything else. Maybe it's not in Vought's best interest to keep it America-centric, but it's definitely in his best interest. He wears the flag as a cape lol, it's permanently tied to both his public image and his self image.

People also can feel grief for really weird reasons (especially with alcohol). A buddy of mine passed away a few years ago and the guys who knew him best didn't take it the hardest, but a few people who barely knew him but hadn't had much experience with death. That, along with being drunk, could have been a key reason as well.
