Happy Feature Friday!!

This movie was so captivating! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this one in the comments below. Also yes, I did stupidly refer to Zoë Kravitz as Halle Berry for half the movie...I think my brain got confused with X-Men stuff when I saw Nicholas Hoult haha.

As always, thank you so much for your support here on Patreon and until the next one, ✨stay golden!✨

"There is no together in this society. It's everyone for themselves" How often are you accidentally so wise/prophetic......? I'm genuinely curious.

Em McG

"...we who wander this Wasteland in search of our better selves." My own interpretation of Max is that he's looking toward a higher purpose. He has not finished his quest and therefore in the end he turned around and would not be contained by the life in the Citadel which would be a life of rebuilding society. I believe Max at this time is done with society and all its failings. That is not where he looks to for solutions. The character of Max throughout the movie is very consistent in what he does and what he says. "If you do not fix what is broken... you'll just go insane." What is broken in this case? Society is broken. The society which consist of the Citadel, Bullet Farm and Gas Town. Furiosa seeks to escape to find "the green place" which is a place of myth, the better place. But there is no better place, the land in the next valley is not greener, "the green place" has long ago vanished. The solutions to problems is not outside, it is not escape. You have to fix where you are, you have to fix society where you are. Where you are is home, it is within it is not external. So Max rode fast to catch up to the party and to tell Furiosa where she must go and how she might find some sort of redemption. It is not easy to understand at first but home is The Citadel. That is the place to fix. "Where must we go?" Where does Max want to go? When he runs into groups of people they tend to capture him and he was just chained up and used as a blood bag. For his own reasons I feel that Max has turned his back on society long ago and now he wanders the wasteland... perhaps in search of his better self.
