Misogyny in action, when Rupert cheats on his wife with someone half his age, he doesn't lose anything, he's still respected and the tabloids don't even criticize him. But Rebecca, who remained faithful while married and didn't do anything wrong, gets stalked by paparazzi taking nude photos of her and she gets scrutinized and criticized. And that's *before* she started a relationship with someone much much younger than her. EDIT: Had to point out that in an earlier episode, Ted mentioned that he thought it shouldn't take any longer for a man to get dressed than the runtime of "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins, and in this episode he's literally getting dressed to that song! :D Also, Sassy and Keeley in this episode (as always) are best friend goals. From "decrepit shtibag" to "that baby's wack," they are just such a good example for all. Finally: When Rupert and Bex were leaving the funeral... where was the baby? They arrived with the baby, she was holding the baby during the service, but on their way out: no baby. I assume it's because you typically have very limited hours to work with a baby actor, and if the shoot was over time or something they probably just had to hope nobody would notice. EDIT: OK I'm not done. Norah was missing at the end too! Why is everyone leaving their children behind at this funeral?

Hi Nat and thanks for the new reaction! You had the energy for this one hahaha, even if at some point the tears were coming, can't wait to discover your next reaction! I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Gosh darn it Nattie. We tune in for some light hearted Ted fun and you get us crying again! 😊 There were some really great moments in this episode, and your laughter when Ted wanted a legal hug brought everything around again. Looking forward to seeing how the season ends next week. Thanks for your video today Nat 💛

Hi Natalie - I'm new here so forgive me if this is inappropriate - in S2E08, "Man City," after Ted witnesses Jamie's father abuse him in front of the team, and then Jamie punching him, Ted calls Sharon and tells her that his father committed suicide when he was 16. You were talking about something else at the time and I think you missed it entirely. It's a good exchange and worth going back to look at again.

Considering she edits these to put on youtube, I assume she'll notice that while editing. :)

(Apparently my comment got deleted, so I'm posting a slightly edited version.) I love this episode. Some random observations: I love that Ted has Nathan's xmas gift photo in his bedroom next to the photo of his kid. Nora's undercut is fantastic, and her clothing style is SO baby butch, and I adore her for that. Ted is so interesting and heartbreaking in this episode, and Jason's acting is fantastic. The fact his response to his dad's suicide was to "never let anyone get by [him] without knowing they might be hurting inside" says SO MUCH about him as a person. (Also the fact his other response was to drink a beer, at age 16, is also worrying.) Also, the moments when Rebecca and Ted's dads betrayed them are not only revealed at the exact same time, they also HAPPENED at the exact same time - Sep 13, 1991, at the same time of day due to timezones. Talk about fate. The only person Keeley says 'I love you' back to is Rebecca. The fact that Sassy says "p**** is too big" then "speaking of which" to allude to Ted has led people to use the fanfic tag "Ted Lasso's Canonically Huge D***". This is hilarious to me. Rupert giving his shares away is suspicious for on particular reason: it is illegal to hold shares in multiple football clubs in the same league. I saw a lot of people pointing this out on twitter when the episode first came out. When Ted tells that story about Rebecca's dad dancing, she's trying to do the same thing that Sharon did for him: give her a GOOD memory to focus on. I still can't believe the amount of Rickrolling that happens in this episode. When it happened at the funeral, I was freaking out.

Presumably the baby was with the nanny who arrived with them and was pushing a baby buggy.

This is heavy stuff. Hard to process. My Dad passed when I was in Grade 5. It still hurts. This year I started digitizing old VHS tapes he made in an effort to hear his voice. I have 5 siblings and I turned these tapes into compilation videos of them with Dad. I saw my Dad playing charades with my oldest sister for GirlScouts. Something I had never seen before, ever. It is the joy memories we hold. We may cry and hurt. But that's what real love is sometimes.

This is definitely my favorite episode of the season, by far. It had so much comedy in it for an episode that was ultimately pretty somber. I loved the moments of vulnerability we got with both Ted and Rebecca. The intercut between the monologues was so well done and really drove home the emotional weight these two characters were (are) carrying around. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the last two of the season! Some juicy stuff coming up for sure. 😉

Thanks for reacting to this series, gives me something to look forward to each week :)

Don't know where to post this, but I'd love to see a compilation of Natalie's best reaction moments (maybe for the Patreon members as a bonus?). A top 10 seems like a nice round number but I'm having a difficult time pinning them down. The two that immediately come to mind are her reactions to the spiders in Indiana Jones and to River Tam saying 'I swallowed a bug' in Serenity. What are some other favorites?

This episode really highlights a bit of a common theme with another Bill Lawrence show regarding fathers and the effect they have on their children, either present or absent. Scrubs was the same - JD’s dad was kinda there but wasn’t successful and a bit of more of a friend than a father figure and JD coming to terms with that as an adult. Dr Cox was exactly what JD wanted as a father figure, and Cox struggles with that as well as being a parent himself, along with his past with his own father.

This show doesn't fail to get me emotional. I really love the characters in this show. I've already watched the full season a few times and I totally still enjoy watching each episode again with Natalie's reaction. :) It's good stuff!
