ButtyOh

Yaaaay. Was really hoping today would be Shang Chi day

Andy Crawley

Yes! Looking forward to seeing what you thought of this. It was my first film I saw back in the cinemas this year, didn’t go in expecting too much but I really enjoyed this one.

NotlobParrot

Wooo Hooo! I can't wait to see you're reaction. I loved this movie so much! Ack!

Anonymous

Looking forward to watching! Such a great movie!

Darryl Low

Fantastic Nat. Been holding off on this one to watch along with you, so been looking forward to it. IMAX enhanced essentially means your getting more image top and bottom as the letterboxed black bars are a lot smaller than usual. They've enhanced a few of the MCU movies this way on Disney+ Another Marvel movie and more daddy issues. I did not expect to see Trevor Slattery and also mythical creatures in this one, but it was all the better for it. Enjoyed this one a lot. Great character moments and some awesome action scenes. And Wong and you doing karaoke 😄 "You couldn't have made them Honda Civics?" Nattie, you slay me 😂 Thanks for a really fun video today, and as always, thanks for all your awesome work this week Nat. Hope you feel more like yourself soon, and have a great weekend Nat 💛

Jacketb

I had a feeling this would be it!

Randee Carreno

Happy Friday, Natalie! 😊 YES! I was hoping that you were going to watch this one. I'm downloading this right now so that I can watch it tonight. I finally watched it the day after it premiered on Disney+. And was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Loved the cameo appearances from some of the other characters we've already seen. Looking forward to watching this reaction this evening. Have a great day today! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

Dante

This movie is fantastic. Easily up there with Ragnarok, Winter Soldier, Iron Man 1, Black Panther, and GotG as my favorite Marvel solo movies.

Jomero

Just started watching this last night, but haven't finished it. Now the dilemma of restarting it and finishing it off with a watch-along, or finish it on my own first.

ButtyOh

Also you seemed to miss the fact that Wong was fighting Emil Blonsky aka The Abomination, a hulk villain. Namely Tim Roths character from the Edward Norton Hulk film

Sean

Fun MCU Fact! The Ten Rings has featured in every Iron Man movie and had a representative in Ant-man (he was a buyer for the villain's tech).

REDR58

To be fair, unless she’s seen the older movies a few times she might not remember Abomination. And he looks a little different now.

Ian

Happy Friday nat only watched this a few days ago but am looking forward to watching along with you half today and will finish the rest tomorrow I love the fight scenes in this movie and I hope you do also 🙂 have the best weekend nat and love to koda until the next time stay golden 💛

Kevin Mowery

Oh, man, I wasn't expecting this today. Glad I started work early so I can quit early.

Calo Grsf

Hi Nat and thanks for this nice funny and at certain times, emotional reaction! 😄 It's so great to see you enjoyed the film. I personally have a mixed opinion on this film even though I like it a lot (it's more "details" but voilà hahaha) I really loved when they revealed Trevor but Wong's moment got my heart hahaha I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Kevin

you're gonna love Eternals.

David Olden

On Disney plus there’s a choice to watch IMAX enhanced(under the versions tab) So I’m doing that :-)

Dooly

As an Asian, I was rather indifferent about the movie. Representation is great but I’d preferred to see an actual Asian production rather than a western attempt at one.

When Nat said 'Yup, she gonna die' ROFL

Logan Kerlee

This movie was a ton of fun! I watched it in theaters back when it was first released. Saw it in IMAX. Some of the scenes were pretty dang awesome but in the end it wasn't really worth it for an IMAX ticket price. Whatever though, the movie's awesome. :)

Dooly

This movie is the equivalent of any Jackie Chan movie not made in Hong Kong.

Anonymous

If you like Marvel and F*(ked-up characters and relations, give Jessica Jones a go. amazing series, and 10th as a villain... perfect

Ilsuk Yang

Xialing's all like, "I am the captain now!" at the end! Loved your reaction to Trevor's entrance, Nat!

Anonymous

Its interesting you bring up grief making compelling villans. I agree and looking back on it, most antagonists I've really liked have that similar back story. 'Castlevania' on Netflix is kinda built around that. Worth a watch, in my opinion.

Kal-El_138

It plays the IMAX Enhanced version by default, so you don't have to choose it.

Chief

Glad to see this, and looking forward to X-Men Days of Future Past and Hawkeye! I know it's just my own take, but I haven't been able to get into Ted Lasso or Squid Game.

djKENTO

IMAX Enhanced just means you see the full frame 16:9 version instead of 21:9 which is what most of the marvel movies are. The live streamer on the bus is the guy who tells Spider-Man to do a flip. Bruce is in a sling because he’s still recovering from when he snapped everyone back.

Daniel Casillas

I was so Ready to watch The Wolverine I haven’t seen seen it since it came out in Theaters

JediLounger

I am glad you liked it Natalie. It’s not my favorite marvel movie but I enjoyed it a great deal. If you are interested in seeing more of Michelle Yeoh and her wire-fu skills, you should watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Connor Ellis

Mermaid Hulk is The Abomination, as in the villain from the Edward Norton Hulk film

Joe Blankenship

Pretty similar to the Star Wars story when you think about it. Even down to the father turning to the dark side because he thinks it can save his wife. But Star Wars was lifted from something else anyway.

Connor Ellis

The wirework is intentional. Same as the classic Martial arts films.

Pascal Bouchard

Trevor's entrance was great, but the scene where he speaks about the planet of the apes is legendary and so was the look on Nat faces while she listened to him speaking nonsense :D

Byron

Ip Man is a great story driven movie with gorgeous action and a lot of heart

Daniel Vezina

You need to watch "What If " ASAP, you should have watch it before that. Plus when you watch next MCU projects, do what you did before, release date is gonna be really important. Series and movies are gonna intertwine.

Ben Wheeler

There's also a 10-12 minute short telling how the Ten Rings kidnapped Trevor out of prison.

Lucifer Moon

I saw Eternals and I loved it so much. I am glad audiences are liking it WAY MORE than critics.

Alan Kobb

Natalie-- You always seem to already know this stuff, but Trevor Slattery is played by the talented Sir Ben Kingsley. He won the Oscar for Ghandi, and I thought should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Schindler's List, but Ralph Fiennes was for his role in that movie. He really can play comedy just as effortlessly as drama. He spent years working with the Royal Shakesphere Company, and I think he really kind of plays Trevor as kind of a Shakesperian comedic character.

Lucifer Moon

I love all this ties into the Iron Fist mythos and Cities of Heaven. All the cities of Heaven have secret entrances that can only be opened at certain times. I just loved it all so much.

Anonymous

I really loved this movie, it may be on my top 3 Marvel Movies. The behind the scenes is pretty interesting too, definetly worth a watch if you're interested in that kinda thing.

Andrew T

OMG. Natalie's nose-blowing synced up with the dragon splooshing through the water. That was epic. Had to say it. I'm so sorry, Natalie.

Dooly

It’s a great martial arts film. Doubt she’ll ever do a reaction to it though.

Dooly

Star Wars was loosely based on Kurosawa’s Hidden Fortress as well as borrowing from many tropes explained in Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey.

Anonymous

I completely relate with regards to not always feeling entertained by the action in most marvel movies, so I'm glad you agreed that they really stepped up the action in this one. The bus and scaffolding scenes were great

Anonymous

I had a rough day at work today and the only thing that kept me going was knowing that this reaction was waiting form me when got home. So thank you very much.

Anonymous

Hey Natalie! Not sure if this was already explained, but high-end TV's have started to progress to nearly what the theater's projectors can do, just on a smaller scale. Imax has now certified certain TV's to have "IMAX Enhanced" which means that they feel comfortable saying that watching it on one of those TV's would look like it did in the theaters. IMAX ENHANCED temporarily switches your TV settings over to what IMAX envisioned for the movie. Hope that answered your question!

Connor Ellis

It's mostly bs. It's just films now having the Imax Aspect Ratio, which happens to be almost 16:9 Widescreen.

Anonymous

I loved this movie! It was amazing! Are you planning on reacting to the What If series? I highly recommend it, it was fantastic!

Eric

What a weird reaction to the sister taking over the evil organization instead of tearing it down like she said she would...

Jason Dolan

Natalie: Oh Bruce is back in human form. She-Hulk Line Producer: Yeah... about that...

Tony Leung who plays the father is huge here in Hong Kong, arguably our best ever actor. Not something I'd recommend as a reaction, but check out 'In the Mood for Love' if you get a chance. Such a beautiful film and with amazing performances from him and Maggie Cheung

Philip

Thank you for another great reaction, Natalie! If you're interested to see how Trevor (Ben Kingsley) joined this film, Disney+ has a 13 min one-shot called All Hail the King that shows what happens to him right after Iron Man 3.

“Not the dragon!” 😁So adorable Nat. My first time doing a Patreon watch-a-long, still hilarious how Nat can predict so many things before it happens but can’t quite remember characters she’s seen before. She didn’t notice the widow from Black Widow, the Extremis Soldier from Iron Man 3 or Abomination (“Mermaid Hulk” 😂) from the Incredible Hulk.) Also Nat, after 25 MCU you still haven’t realize that Fathers are the #1 villains!😂

Tony Johnson

I guess you have to watch Planet of the Apes now. Gotta see those monkeys act!

Patrick Armbruster

Ah, yes... The spiritual sequel to both the Kung-Fu Panda and the How To Train Your Dragon series. :) :) :)

Yani Dodge

Not my favorite marvel movie, but it's so fun to get to watch them with you! I liked your Karaoke at the end too! Stay golden :P

Daniel Vezina

Personally I think it's the "Attack of the Clones" of the MCU. Everything look so much more fake then the other MCU movies.

Delboy0

When I first saw it, I didn't like the movie due to CGI green screen fakery in the 3rd act. Then I saw Eternals the worst MCU movie and this didn't seem as bad on the second watch.

Foxyguava

I already heavily dislike CGI fests at the tail end of Marvel Movies.... not because CGI is inherently bad but because there is something about how they compose the scenes that doesn't connect with me. You can place as many models on screen as you want, but it just feels lifeless... and that's what really bummed me out about the ending og Shang-Chi. In contrast, the bus scene had so much compositing and CG done on it (i mean how else do you make a bus on giant rig in New Zealand look like its in San Fran), but it the intimacy made it so much better. It was intricate, but felt simple. It had personality.

FatLittleButterfly

We Asians love our karaoke xD You could cover most of Tony's face except his eyes and still feel the emotions he is emitting through them

JarHead0351

If you like this type of movie - try Jackie Chan - Rush Hour 1&2&3 or Legend of Drunkin Master or Shanghai Noon - for me I would like to see you do older flims Animal House - Smokey and the Bandit - oh one thing more when you scream, you scare the cat lol

Matthew

I enjoyed this one but it's elevated by Tony Leung in the cast. It's a gift if this film brings his body of work to American audiences. (I'll spend an afternoon with Red Cliff Parts I and II.)

Jeff Smith

Great reaction, I don’t think the father and his faction were sexist. I believe it to be a culture difference from the time he came into power and today’s inclusive culture. I do understand where a sexism can be applied here I just don’t believe it is accurate. Just a thought.
