Great to see you back in the safety of your more familiar and cosy surroundings Nat. "This House is Crazy" has definite potential for a Halloween hit record. A lot of great scenes and character moments again today, especially Mr. Dudley's monologue which was disturbing and mesmerising, and looked like a one take shot again. Looking forward to seeing what happens next as we build to the finale. Super stoked to receive a shipping email for the mugs and beanies, so they are on their way. So excited 😊 Thanks for a great reaction today Nat 💛

This episode confirmed for me that the "creature" in the basement was Olivia in a very late stage of decay. If you notice in Shirley's office in this episode the "creature" crawls in the exact same pattern as the basement scene with the same grabbing motion. Just another brilliant repeated element from this show.

If anyone needs help syncing the reaction to the episode on Netflix you can try out this browser extension that I developed: https://www.casper.live/ You can pause and jump around in the reaction and everything is kept in sync. My recommended "offset" for this reaction is 25.3.

I'm guessing in the thumbnail for this one, she's in the middle of telling us that she doesn't want it.

This is a great idea, but I can't get it to launch. This is on my Windows 10 tablet. Chrome browser. Vimeo is pre selected, I can't change that, nor can I enter anything in the reaction video field nor the offset. I think this tool will be wonderful, but I am- kind of stuck doing it the old way.

In the scene where Luke is at the graveside, and his mom grabs his hand, you said they were asking him to stay. The mom did, but before that, Nellie said "Don't."

People have to, you know, BELIEVE in ghosts before the idea that a house is haunted is going to even be an option. Finding a dead body in a wall doesn't just make a non-believer start believing in ghosts and haunted houses. People don't just magically start believing in things they don't normally believe in when their kids are scared of the dark, as kids often are. In a way, this is like how some of your thoughts during "The Game of Thrones" were frustrating, asking why people didn't just do certain things, when in their world, those things were all but impossible to do, given the political, financial and social environment they lived in. Here, asking why they just don't leave because the house is haunted seems to be coming from that same place - you believe in ghosts, and you don't seem to be able to consider the rationale behind the actions of people who don't.

I think the actor portraying the father (in Hill House) is wearing color contacts (or specialty contacts) and, in some scenes he looks as though he's struggling with wearing them. I think that's what gives him the freaky eye look. In my opinion, they contacts are a but too large for the actor's eyes.

Henry Thomas has hazel/green eyes, and he's wearing blue contacts to match Timothy Hutton's natural blue eyes.

Sheryl is the absolute worst

Obie Brown

Yup, and since contacts cant contact like natural pupils they always look beady. I personally would have had Timothy wear Henry Thomas' color to seem more natural.

This is such a great cast from top to bottom. For me, the single best monologue in the show is by Mr. Dudley. He doesn't have a lot of screen time, but the scene where he talks about how he and his wife don't stick around the house after dark gave me chills. And I love the extremely slow zoom on him.

I just found out that Henry Thomas (Hugh) is Elliott from ET and it shook me lol

Hi Nat, it's nice to see you're back in your house 🙂 A really good episode and a new great reaction from you! This show is so good in everything, characters, actors, dialogues, atmosphere... It's a gem, I really can't wait to discover the next one at your side! I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden 💛

I get where Nat's coming from on this. Everybody in the house has seen a lot of strange stuff. It's similar to Agent Scully, who after 150 plus episodes, you would think she might say " You know what, Mulder may actually be onto something here" But the writers refused to go down that route, therefore there is no development of the character, and for the viewer it just becomes frustrating and tiresome.

Chiaroscuro, or light/dark was pioneered by Caravaggio and a whole wave of artists followed him and were known as Caravaggionistas. What you described, using shadow to dramatize images and is a major influence on modern cinema. Rembrandt used that style to great effect

If you like interrogation scenes, a great series to watch is Criminal. There are a few versions in different languages on Netflix, but all have the same premise and identical set - a police interrogation room and backroom in which most of the episodes take place. There is some meta-plot involving the police themselves throughout a season, but most of the meat of the show is the really interesting interrogation dialogue and characters. I've only seen the UK one and some of the Spanish episodes. Kit Harrington guest stars in one episode as in interrogee (?) and he does a really good job of keeping you wondering if he's guilty or not as a kind of skeevy trust fund kid.
