Holy shit I was getting so annoyed listening to you talking to the characters in the most suspenseful scenes

Ben Wheeler

It wouldn’t be much of a reaction if you didn’t talk lol

Calo Grsf

Let's go, who's ready for "A Noisy Place" ? 😆

Anonymous

I love this movie so much, but it is extremely tense throughout! Looking forward to seeing your reactions and views. If you wanted some movies to balance out all the horror this month, The Nice Guys might be the perfect remedy. Ryan Gosling in comedy gold form!

Onno Smits

I've never seen this, but I've heard great things! Will watch it "together" with you this weekend. 😅

Randee Carreno

Happy Friday, Natalie! :) 😊 I'm downloading this right now to watch tonight. This is such a great movie! Definitely lots of jump scares. Which I like. LOL! The actress that plays Regan, the daughter, is deaf in real life. And director(and star of the movie) John Krasinski wanted a deaf actress so that he can learn sign language while filming. So excited to watch this reaction later this evening. Have a great day & weekend! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

Fuzzy Dunlop

Great, this will be my first time watching this along with you.

Anonymous

Any on that list would have been fun, maybe the runners up can get a lil love?

Andy Jordan

Great reaction as always, Nat. So the old man screamed because the creatures had killed his wife and he'd lost hope, so when the creatures came back, he opted to kill himself. Glad you enjoyed this one so much. Cheers!

Calo Grsf

Thank you Nat for this great moment! you were well shaken during this film 😄 The movie is very well executed with the different perspectives and sound effects, and I like the design of the creatures with their moving heads, concerning the baby... We are all agree to say it's not wise to have one in such circumstances 😅 I think for the old man scene, the dead woman is probably his wife (she looks pretty old), and he did that to join her or maybe he was just crazy. And again, what would Natalie Gold be without her tears hahaha, I hope you have some discounted rates for your tissues 😆 I hope you're fine, take care of yours and yourself, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Ian

Happy Friday nat after reading the monthly letter I already know you enjoyed this movie that only makes me want to watch the more but that's going to have to wait until the weekend as I gotta go somewhere and I'm walking because people's vehicles are having holes drilled in them and the fuel stolen so not risking that, our country has gone mad 😕 anyways I hope you have a great weekend and Tyler gets the weekend off too until next time stay golden 💛

Mati D.

If you really like this one, you should watch Bird Box, there you can make noise, but YOU CAN'T SEE, really really good movie.,

Anonymous

Plz, watch the sequel soon after. It’s definitely worth it.

Darryl Low

This country really has gone to the wall. What's happening is inexcusable. Hope you are doing ok otherwise 🙏

''Crazy guy's'' NOT THAT deep, Love: His partner, last family member, friend, or whatever had just been killed (the shot of the woman with the huge wound next to him), so he had nothing to live for anymore and decided to suicide by creature..... Lee (John's character) clocked what the old guy was about to do the second he saw him, and grabbed Marcus (his son) immediately to shut him up so the creature wouldn't be attracted to them as well.... Like I have no idea how someone doesn't get this immediately... Great scene too, very powerful, especially for Marcus to witness it....... God I LOVE this movie, and am INCREDIBLY jealous of John as a writer (albeit a very Shitty one) myself, to've been able to have it made...eugh

john collins

I thought that the man in the woods was standing over his loved one probably his wife who had just been killed by a monster and in his grief he decided to give up and scream.

Lisa Tosti

The man that they saw in the woods that you were confused about, his wife had been killed by a monster and he no longer wanted to live without her. He was in shock and wanted it to be over.

Darryl Low

It's not enough to talk during your waking hours, you have to talk in your sleep too! he he. That's awesome Nat 😊 Was really looking forward to your reaction to this movie, and I absolutely loved it. Your perfectly judged commentary captured the drama, the emotions and the "what's gonna happen next?" Marco Beltrami has done so many great scores in this genre of movie, and is a master at mixing orchestra and electronics. And I think this is one of his best. No broad themes, but instead he creates a musical soundscape that pulls you into the drama. I look forward to your reaction to the 2nd movie whenever that may be. Thanks for a fantastic video today Nat, and as always, that's for all your work this week. Have a great weekend Nat 💛

Nick Normann

Since you liked this one, you should check out The Road. Really emotional post-apocalyptic movie with Viggo Mortensen as the lead actor.

I think the fact that cutting to an idyllic bubbling stream counts as a jump scare is proof of just how well the movie does to suck you in. PS, do yourself a favour and watch some Krunts (Krasinski + Blunt) press tour interviews for this film. Pretty cute, entertaining and informative.

Chaz Mannington

It wasn’t super easy to get from the context, but the dead old woman next to the old man was most likely his wife who was very recently killed by a creature. The shock of losing his loved one likely made him not want to live anymore. Therefore he screamed to end his own life.

Yani Dodge

Happy Friday! I love this movie and I can't wait to watch this reaction!

Anonymous

never understood why they didn't just lure them into a trap/killzone with sound.

Erik Stevenson

Love this movie and great reaction, Nat! Definitely was one of the wildest experiences I've ever had in a theater watching this movie in almost total silence surrounded by people. Haven't seen the second one yet so looking forward to watching it with ya.

Wu Sha Ling

Glad you liked it. This is the kind of movie that works the best watching it once with suspension of disbelief. The minute you think about it, the logic of the world falls apart. The family should have lived near that waterfall, river or seaside which would be safe havens. Without animals and insect life, the ecosystem would fall apart. Even within a year. But in the end it's a story about family, which it did well.

Byron

I’m so glad I got to watch this with you. It’s such a great movie. There’s a wonderful and very thoughtful YouTube analysis that talks about how the family drama is the film’s core and what causes it to transcend beyond horror: https://youtu.be/J3qsPHIHSKw

I don't think that old man killed them. I think the monsters did and he had no one left so it was his way to commit suicide.

Joe Blankenship

Okay. I'm really glad that I decided to watch this on my own for the first time, before watching along. That was amazing. I was tense as fuck. Can't wait to watch it again with Nat.

Anonymous

I think it's great that you enjoyed the movie, even though it's not in a genre that you enjoy. It's a testament to how good the writing is, and how compelling the characters are. Really enjoyed the reaction!

Kelvin

I haven't seen this one yet but been meaning to. Should be fun

Michael G. Munz

One of my first thoughts when seeing this movie was, "Where did they get all that sand?"

Skizane

Upon seeing this movie my then wife told me that Emily Blunt's situation with giving birth in this movie is every pregnant woman's worst nightmare: going into labor in an unsafe place alone with no one to help you. I thought that was an interesting angle I, and I'd guess a lot of men, hadn't considered.

Joe Blankenship

Yeah. Just setup a big ass minefield around a boombox that's set to go off on a timer, then get far away.

Jomero

"I think aliens are just the magic ingredient for me." The Thing: "Even me?!"

Jayson Phillips

You should watch the 5th wave! good alien movie you will love it!!! Also John K is star of the series Jack Ryan and that series is chefs kiss! its on Amazon!

Kota

U should watch Whiplash. Great movie.

Bruce Bromley

Nat, I severely doubt that the old man was a cambial. His beard was too clean for that. 😁 I took it as that his wife was either killed by the creatures at some tome for a reason that was cut from the film. He was just giving up and committing suicide by screaming out like that.

Anonymous

Super excited that you reacted to this. I saw it about a month after it hit theatres. I was the ONLY person in the theatre. It was intense, and probably the best movie experience I've ever had. Given you said that you liked this and that you liked 'Alien' for your only horror films, I don't think it is the extra-terrestrial aspect. Neither are really HORROR films but are suspense thrillers. So, I would recommend 'Shutter Island.' A suspenseful Leonardo Di Caprio film.

Ana Fox

I feel like I was even more invested watching it "with" you than the first time around. And I had loved it that first time. You calling him John also made it so personal lmao. "Emily" and "John" need to be okay, come on! And you were acing the premonitions but I already knew what would happen so I felt on the burst of tears at all times. I know you don't like horror, so seeing you power through it and truly enjoy was so fulfilling. I had nothing to do with the making of the movie and yet I feel proud lmao. Most of all, it's better when after going through the scares you get something out of it.

Anonymous

I thought the old man committing suicide because he had no one left was the same as John committing suicide to save everybody and not be the only one left

Logan Kerlee

Holy shit!! This movie was so friggin' AWESOME! I was on the edge of my seat and as I've likely said on here before, I'm in a wheelchair. lmao, so that comes with risk! For real though, I was so invested in EVERY CHARACTER throughout this movie. At first I wasn't a huge fan of either of the kids. The boy kinda annoyed me the most, initially at least. As everything went along it all changed. Once the world was made clear and the struggle that they faced was obvious - yup, yeah, that made all the difference. As a crippled person, I thought the girl was bad ass throughout - when her hearing devices were used as weapons though.. WHOA! So damn cool. lmao, I know that I'd be killed right quick. There's no way for me to move silently. Very quietly, sure.. silently though? Not a chance. She was prolly my favorite character because of the challenges that she faced throughout the film. Sure, she did some pretty bad things throughout but in the end she's a young girl, it's gonna happen. I've got so much more that I want to rant about with how much I enjoyed this movie but it's late (2:42am) and I don't want to be typing a book on here. Natalie - thank you so much for reacting to this film! I SUPER enjoyed your reaction and it was my first time watching this as well. :) You rock!

Anonymous

"Why did that man do that?" His wife was killed (probably made a sound, they showed her dead on the ground in front of him) and he was grieving... didn't want to live anymore. So he screamed to commit suicide.

Vidcutter

I would've just lived right next to the waterfall

Paul Gibbons

The reason you saw the billboard for so long is that Quiet Place 2 was literally pulled a week before it's release in March 2020 and then didn't come out till May 2021 so with basically nothing out in between it stayed there.

One of the coolest things about the making of this movie and the sequel is that the actress that plays the daughter is really deaf. And by cool I mean interesting, and that it wasn't just a plot device. Millicent Simmonds is incredible in both movies. There was a lot of bonding and learning for the cast with her and that just amplified the experience. NON-Spoiler comment from one of the Behind the Scenes was Millicent's real life mother thanked them for giving her a way to experience what her daughter does when they did her "perspective" hearing scenes. I really loved this movie when it came out and was very disappointed that they were making a sequel. That is until the writers/producers convinced John to come back to direct. I didn't need a sequel, but I feel like it avoids the "Rinse Wash Repeat" mistake many sequels do, and it tells it's own story in the same world, while progressing what we already experienced. I think it is as well made and acted, but the first one holds a very special place. Glad you enjoyed it!

REDR58

It’s pretty clear the old man was suicidal after the death of his wife.

Robert C

The thing I think makes this work as more than just a horror movie is that it's fundamentally about characters and relationships. Yes, they're in this extreme situation, but that situation is used to show us things about those relationships, not just to be gratuitously scary.

Sean Stuart

i wish i saw this in theater instead of hereditary. but watching it alone in my apartment on a quiet night was so fitting. saw 2nd one in theater

Mthagod

I love when the horror penetrate my ears lol great reaction tho ‼️

Yani Dodge

I love cinema therapists, this is why I watched the movie in the first place

Yani Dodge

Uh-huh, like it's not the monsters that get the screen time, its the family

Ilsuk Yang

Yeah, I wouldn't really call this a horror movie either (also, I'm with you in saying that I would die pretty quickly in a world like that). This is definitely a great movie (I rarely call a movie great) that pulls on your heartstrings and ratchets up the tension! Great reaction as always, Nat! Can't wait to see you react to the second one whenever you decide to do it!

LightsCameraJake

By far one of my favorate movies to come out in the last couple years. Not only the story being told, but the characters relationships and sound design. Its bread and butter.

Matthew Shaver

Probably would have never checked this movie out without your reaction and loved it.

Matthew Shaver

My only problem with AQP is the monsters must have some kind of sound vision to avoid running in to trees at high speed. That would also allow them to track motion. But then they would not be completely 'blind' and ruins the premise.

ButtyOh

To be clear the old man wasn't a cannibal. The body was his wife, he had just found her body after it had been killed by one of the alien creatures. Grieving he decides to F it and screams out his feelings, effectively committing suicide by alien Lee and the Brat coming across him at that moment was pure bad luck

ButtyOh

I forgot how much i hate these two films and their blaring inconsistencies Alien in 1st film "I'll just go for a likkle swim round the basement see if there's any nice tasty hooman treats to snakk on" Alien in 2nd Film "We dunna like WATER. Someone remind us to ask our glorious leader why we decided to invade a planet that IS MOSTLY WATER!"

Jeremy York

Such a great book, the movie adaptation was pretty good in comparison

Nettles

Nat, Please watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3qsPHIHSKw

Squ33ky

Awespme movies no matter what some may say.. enjoy

Charles Semon

To be clear a "Silencer" won't do ANYTHING. There's actually a good reason that people who do use these devices call them "Surpressors" and not "Silencers" and that's simply because a weapon with a suppressor on it is still very loud, all it does is make it a fair bit of decibels quieter as to not hurt your ears but, You's still hear it at least a block away.
