Hey Marvel Monday!!!

This will be our last Marvel Monday for a little while :( but don't worry! We still have lots of fun things to watch.

This movie warmed my heart and was a nice light hearted watch after the heavier Endgame. I'm so excited to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

As always, thanks so much for your support here on Patreon and until the next one, ✨stay golden!✨

I love that when Peter was leaving the opera you said about Brad giving Peter the bird. I laughed and said "Ha! Brad Bird!" 😄

Edwin Bertilsson

Wait, no WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki?

Anonymous

Yay! It's finally Monday! Have a great day!

codenamewitch xx

Hope you don’t take too much of a break before Wandavision. Behind Endgame that has been what I have been most excited to see your reaction to!!! So close to catching up to the current MCU I really hope you come back soon!!!

Anonymous

Please continue with Wandavision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier soon! Thanks for all the great Marvel content! It's been a fun ride!

TheVenerate

We still have WandaVision and Falcons and the Winter Soldier!

Matthew Periolat

Will watch after work, but figure finally safe to share this. Watch and react if you so choose as a swan song. https://youtu.be/QdpxoFcdORI?list=FLXAUCaDfKmy-HyOTvbO6fQQ

Nikita Pascari

I'm more exited for you to watch WandaVision and Falcon than any marvel movie coming up tbh

David Blake

Harry Potter series?!? 😊

Darryl Low

Such a fun start to the week and great to see you in the pink Nat. This movie is a lot of fun and I was laughing along with you, and bopping along to The Go-Go's at the end. The big twist in the middle was a definite wow moment first time around, and It was fun to see your reaction. Thanks for all the much-needed laughs today Nat 💛

So glad the Marvel stuff will be stopping for a bit, as much as I love it all, I'm a bit burned out

R.BGames37

Anonymous

Please please pleaseeeeee watch wandavision 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Anonymous

But there are only two projects left to be up to date. I accept your decition to stop if you want, but this seems to be a weird time for it...

Rich

Please reconsider your break from Marvel! We all want WandaVision soon please

Randee Carreno

Happy Marvel Monday, Natalie! 😊 The last one until you start on Phase 4 with "WandaVision", "Falcon and the Winter Soldier", "Loki", and the "Black Widow" movie. Hopefully there won't be too long of a break. "WandaVision" and "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" are both such excellent shows. I like how we got to see Peter dealing with the aftermath of the events of "Endgame". And at the same time, still wanting to enjoy his school trip. Love that Peter and MJ got together in this movie. There is a really sweet deleted scene of Peter & MJ returning home from the school trip. Loved the pairing of Happy & May. I'm hoping to see more of those two together in the 3rd "Spider-Man" movie that comes out in December. The moment in Stark plan with Happy and Peter talking about Tony always gets me a little misty eyed. And then the look on Happy's face when Peter was making his new suit, love it! I was wondering if you recognized that song that Happy turned on while Peter was making his suit as the one from the beginning of the first "Iron Man" movie. 😊 That first end credit scene through me for a loop. If you remember who those two Skrulls were. It's Talos and his wife Soren. They were the two that befriended Captain Marvel, Fury, and Maria in "Captain Marvel". I have a theory about that end credit scene, but I can't say anything until you watch "WandaVision". And after the second post-credit scene, I have a feeling that "Spider-Man: No Way Home"(the 3rd movie) is going to be so good. It was so much fun being on this MCU journey with you. Like I said, I hope that you don't take too long of a break between now and when you start the MCU Phase 4 shows. "WandaVision" and "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" are so fantastic! And I can't wait to start watching "Loki" in a couple of weeks. I'm SO EXCITED for you to watch those shows. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Ilsuk Yang

The suit at the beginning is the one he wore in Infinity War and Endgame

Anonymous

You still watch the very first Marvel movie before the MCU was ever created. The cult classic Howard the Duck by George Lucas.

Andy Crawley

Really enjoyed this one, it was a fun come down after how emotionally draining Endgame had been at that time. I know you want to take a break from Marvel to avoid getting burnout, but I would suggest at least maybe watching WandaVision as soon as possible, as it picks up about 3 weeks after the events of Endgame, and ties in to a lot of the themes. Maybe substitute an episode of GoT a week for a WandaVision episode? So as not to use up the Monday’s on it, and gets through the 9 eps quite quickly. But totally understand if you want to give it a rest for a bit. Either way you’re in for a treat when you do watch it!

JediLounger

I do not think you should watch Wandavision yet, please take a break from the MCU. Watch the other non MCU marvel films and watch some other stuff as well, get some distance from everything. There is a huge payoff to understanding the entire Marvel Universe outside of what the MCU was when it first started, and I suspect this payoff is going to grow when the MCU expands later this year. Get your context soon, so you understand all the stuff that is going to start happening.

David Brown

Natalie, if you are taking a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you should watch the X-Men movies in release order, before coming back to WandaVision. Please.

Jai Nelson

This isn’t on Disney+? Where can I watch?

Ilsuk Yang

So, on the bus, MJ noticed that Peter is Spider-Man

Joe Blankenship

I'm itching to watch WandaVision again but I can wait til you're up for it. I don't know if I can hold off on watching Loki though. We'll all probably be on our 2nd time when you get to it.

Kevin Bartelen

Just be aware that the Disney+ shows are making important changes and so should be next before any new movies.

Ilsuk Yang

Still can't believe that Tony gave the glasses to a 17-year old kid!

Steve J

Spiderman's web shooters: The Sam Raimi version of Spiderman in the 2000-era movies made the 'creative decision' to have Spiderman's webs be part of his powers and shoot directly from his wrists. I think in general Spiderman lore it's usually mechanical bracelet thingies that shoot the web stuff Peter invented.

Byron

This version follows the traditional story line where Peter invented his web slingers and the web fluid in them. The Sam Raimi movies took an at the time modern genetic take on the story and so the webbing was part of the mutation. So, you are correct that he could just make webbing in those movies, but in these (e.g. the chemistry class scene from Homecoming), Peter has to concoct it and use wrist shooters.

Anonymous

Sony owns the Spiderman film rights. Only the characters are shared with Disney. You would have to buy or rent the Spiderman MCU movies to watch them. I hope this helps.

WackySwacky

The Marvel Studios TV shows are canon to the MCU films, the rest of the off-shoot Marvel properties are non-canon, so they can be safely ignored. Though, there are attempts to get the Netflix Daredevil into official MCU canon, so that Charlie Cox can come back and reprise his role.

YYZHawk

To clarify on Peter's webs, he doesn't produce them on his own. The first Spider Man movie trilogy took liberty with that and just made it part of the powers he got from the spider bite. In reality, that only gave him the superhuman strength, reflexes & spider sense. He was already smart enough to design the webshooters himself.

Jon Hoover

What are you saying? We aren't rewatching all of the MCU films, and doing this whole journey again?🤷🤷🤷

Danishprince

And thus ends the Marvel Monday journey - It has been absolutely incredible and I am so thankful that you went for this <3

Anonymous

Fun Fact, the scientist with the bald head and glasses that was in the original Iron Man, and also in Far from Home, is Ralphie from "A Christmas Story"

Thomas Yanez

Just because it is old doesn't make it a "classic" and "cult" implies the movie has a rabid following. Now, don't get me wrong, I would love the MCU to move up from cameos to a proper reboot of the character.

Dani

the third spider-man movie is coming in December and it's gonna tie in to WandaVision and Dr Strange 2.

Anonymous

Are you ever going to finish off the Star Wars saga? I realize that Cancel Culture is trying their best to nix the Sequel Trilogy and Solo from the lore, but they ARE still canon, and contrary to popular opinion I still enjoyed (most) of them...but more importantly, good or bad, I want to see your REACTION to them. I can actually picture you enjoying them for the most part. I notice every other reaction channel seems to skip these films too - but I'm not invested in everyone else. It would be nice to see my favorite reactor react to SOME content that nobody else covers...I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Mike LL

So glad you got what you wanted from this movie, as I think we all did, and it was so much fun to watch your reaction to all the plot twists. Your instinct about not needing the tissues for this one was right on. Some very minor thoughts. Peter's webbing coming from his body was something they developed for the movies. This movie series has it right, the webbing is Peter's creation and can be used in the plot by its running out, like in this movie. Flash as created by Stan Lee always loved Spidey, but gave Peter a lot of grief, it is in the spirit of Stan Lee's writing. As was the character of Quentin Beck, Mysterio, also created by Stan Lee, the master of illusion, the one villian you can be sure is not dead. Mysterio dead, that is one thing I will never believe.

Thomas Yanez

I am normally a "release order" kind of guy, but I'd make one exception - "Logan" should always be the last movie an X-Men newbie watches. Oh, and then you can watch the Deadpool movies, too.

Calo Grsf

Thanks Nat for the fun reaction, it was a super great adventure by your side 😄 ! I hope we'll come back to this universe with you and enjoy your Marvel-break 😀 ! But I must say I was surprised you didn't understand the role of Mysterio faster haha, and I loved your reactions about Ned and his girlfriend, I have exactly the same kind of reaction for this kind of couple haha And the most important...You succeeded in confusing me with Celine and Whitney 😂 On that note, I hope you're fine, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Jomero

Yep. They are a symbol of Peter not just having superpowers, but that he's also smart and inventive.

Thomas Yanez

I really hope she reviews these comments and re-thinks at least "Wandavision". At least, making sure to watch the Phase 4 shows already released before moving into any new MCU movies.

Valar Dohaeris

I really lovely reaction, that improved my overall enjoyment of the movie. And if I may say a good example of the advantages of not investigating a movie or it's characters before hand. I'm sure that all of those(including Nat) that didn't know about Mysterio from the comics, got a kick with the plot twist. Lovely

Darryl Low

Nat has said that she will be reacting to them at some point. She's breaking them up though with other movies and movie series, as she wants a variety of stuff on her channel. I'm looking forward to Nat watching them too and seeing what she makes of them.

Lucky Dragon ‘She.They’

We are finally here. You are now caught up with the movies. Kinda bittersweet. Bout to watch the reaction now.

Brandon Scott

Nat when Peter said, "I love Led Zeppelin!": HAHAHHAA!! Me: Okay, Miss "Celine Dion." LMAO! Awesome reaction, as always. Wandavision soon, yes!?!?!?!? And, yes. It was Whitney Houston.

Ian

That was really enjoyable, so great to see Nat enjoying herself and no need for tissues 😉 the spiky ball thing otherwise known as a morning star 😀 so marvel Mondays go on hold for a bit thankyou Nat for a truly memorable journey it's been a lot of fun 💛

The Golgothan

Nat: Spiderman movies tend to be more heartwarming, more playful Me: <.< >.>

Steven Tarsitano

you have to watch wandavision now that you've caught up with the MCU movies.

Connor Ellis

Nearly all comics, tv shows and movies have Spidey have Web Shooters. Only in those Tobey Maguire films did the webs come out of his hands naturally.

Connor Ellis

Yeah he had the suit with the legs that Tony gave him in Infinity War. Then he has the older suit Tony gave him in Civil War.

Texas Anla'Shok

Can't tell you the smirk I had about 50 minutes in thinking, "Oh, yeah, Nat's completely bought into this thing."

Tristan Ryan Cox

Natalie Gold Please check out The Departed

swoop_13-37

Nat: she's ganna use the spikey ball thing. Me channeling my inner Allen Tudyk: it's called a mace, hello?!

Baron

Thank you for the great reaction, all of your comments and reactions to the movie were great and interesting. Enjoyed all of your predictions during the movie. Also Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are two amazing Marvel movies I suggest you add to your list, that are also connected to the MCU. Thanks again.

swoop_13-37

Hopefully if the multiverse is executed correctly. He'll be the man-spider.

Hi Nat...Are you ready to see WandaVision? I love that show

Eddie

I thought Mysterio was going to become the villain at the very end, sort of like Chiwetel's character in Doctor Strange. It was a great plot twist! It also gave the villain more personality because the Elementals were very one-dimensional.

The Goateed Geek

Last Marvel? What about WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki?

George Baxter

Its funny that you think you can escape the Marvel Universe... See you when you run out of good DC movies. By my count there are 2.

Myles Away

You're definitely going to want to watch WandaVision.

Foggy

Nat, that’s Whitney Houston at the beginning lmao

Ben Wheeler

To my knowledge JK Simmons is the only actor to span all three of the last live action Spiderman franchises.

Anonymous

Nat, I have grown to love your reactions. I often scream along with you. You have brought me many smiles during this crazy time/year. I joined your Patreon to watch the Marvel movies along with you. I know you don't want to burn out on Marvel and I can respect that. That said, I cannot wait for you to watch WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Keep up the great vids!

Joe Blankenship

This time I noticed that Maria Hill called him Nick instead of Fury at the beginning of the movie.

YodatheHobbit

I gotta recommend you really start watching the credits. I know the temptation of just skipping to the scenes is so convenient, but there really is something special about appreciating all the filmmakers hard word and being rewarded at the end of it with a scene and the anticipation and prolonged mystery of how much or how little the mid and end credits scene are relevant to the plot, or just a fun little thing.

YodatheHobbit

Wooooooooahhh..... Thank you. Damn these details are so good and consistent!

YodatheHobbit

Did you really forget what she said at the beginning of the video by the end of it?

It Hurt A Lot

I feel like Natalie's a music nerd kinda like we're all movie nerds. She nails the song references most of the time

john collins

They're prepping for Young Avengers! Peter Parker was one of the top leaders of this second generation of avengers in the comics so i expect he will be in the films as well!

Anonymous

I’m so glad they keep their kiss at the end awkward and believable as a first kiss. My opinion would’ve soured a bit had it been this huge passionate moment.

Anonymous

I caught that "something in the water" reference from King Kunte Nat! You aint slick!👍😘

Ken

There are also countless good movies that have nothing at all to do with superheroes

Matthew Periolat

What a great way to cap Marvel! For the time being, I mean. We’ll be back eventually, but with so much else out there, this is a good pause point. Come to think, this was a pause point for the entire MCU thanks to COVID, so... fitting? Yeah, I so dig Peter and MJ as a couple, easily behind only Cap and Peggy and Peter and Gamora as my favorite coupling. And love how sweetly innocent it is with how Tom and Zendya play it. Good times. Well, the roller coaster as come to a full and complete stop. Can’t wait for the next ride. Still Golden until then!

Anonymous

Can't wait for Wandavision! if Black Widow spoils anything about it (unlikely) then you have to watch it first remember

Anonymous

The "bracelets" are his web-shooters. Originally in the comics Peter didn't shoot webs from his body, he made them. He had web shooters that had a thing in the palm of his hand that would make them shoot from his wrists, hence the iconic web shoot hand position. They use web fluid, which is what he was making in the school lab in Homecoming and why Tony asks him who manufactures his webs in Civil War. The webs being something biological instead of synthetic was just something created by Sam Raimi.

Anonymous

Definitely take a bit of a break from the MCU for a while. I know everyone wants to see you dive into it ASAP, myself included. But I totally understand wanting to take a break a bit from the franchise, so you don't get burned out.

G. T. Blackwell

I really want to see a reaction to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Ellis Hugh

lol - I think it might be better to watch it yourself first. Natalie is my dream partner to watch a movie with the second time, but my worst nightmare to watch it through for the first - and I say that with nothing but love for the golden girl. ;)

Frank Rosales

Doesn't Loki start next month haha we'll see how long of a break she takes seeing he'll be back in his own series. Also there's soo much more Marvel coming in the next few years leading up to a new Avengers movie. Breaks are great though and this was a long unforgettable journey.

Jason Usher

great reaction, I love this movie tons, cannot wait for the WANDAVISION reactions to start

Kevin Bartelen

Comic Spidey needs web shooters, which he invented. This is comic Spider-Man

acidnova

I love that Nat thought Whitney Houston was Celine Dion while watching a movie where Peter thought AC/DC was Led Zeppelin <3

Nathan Churchill

As a not much of an MCU fan, I'm more than happy for something different. I understand the passion of MCU fans, I'm just not one.

Tiger Chu

Should definitely check out into the spider-verse

DaMarkiM

thats reasonable. I feel the same about GoT - its nice that we have a good mix of all kinds of things. I hope shell do Spiderverse before the hero movie break, seeing as its such a good fit after this movie.

DaMarkiM

You really should see Spiderverse before going on a hero movie break. Its a nice contrast to the MCU spiderman and an amazing move in its own right.

DaMarkiM

im fine with a break too. Havent even seen all the new MCU stuff myself yet. But i hope shell do Spiderverse, because it fits so well after this movie

DaMarkiM

they trusted the kid with the completed infinity gauntlet in endgame. he is fine with some glasses.

Greg McDaniel

Seeing Betty in this movie reminded me: Nat, you should definitely check out the movie "The Nice Guys".

dean mooney

I have mastered the art of lining up the movie with this video so I can see them both in real time lol, bummer there’s no video or audio I hate copyright rules!!!!

Joshua

Bruh the fact that she didn’t know about the web shooters was probably the most disappointing

WackySwacky

I really wish the Spider-Man movies were on Disney+ like the rest of the Marvel movies. You can't even rent this movie anywhere, you can only buy it. I ended up having to get a free trial at Stars just to watch it. Hope I don't forget to cancel it.

Opti_Frog

Seeing J.K. Simmons back as J. Jonah Jameson still cracks me up.

Ben Gilshenan

Natalie: wheres wanda just call her Me: 😬

Ben Gilshenan

it would also be a nice spot for her to present questions and thoughts on the movie

Ben Gilshenan

its called a lance hello a knights tale would be a nother amazing movie to watch

Ben Gilshenan

i really enjoyed falcon and the winter soilder Cap is one of my favoruites i just wish it didnt get rewriten to not be so relavent to current world issues

Anonymous

Cant find my bluray!!!!

Anonymous

Although it doesn't tie in to the MCU, you should do a reaction to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It's probably one of the best, if not the best, Spider Man film. Also thank you for your reactions - it's made a crazy year bearable.

Jeff E

PLEASE don't wait TOO long before watching the Marvel Disney+ series!🙏🏻 At least WandaVision, since it's still part of the Infinity Saga (that's what Marvel is calling the collection of films you just watched). It takes place just a week or two directly after Hulk snapped everyone back. Spider-Man took place several months after that. As a fellow Wanda fan, I CANNOT WAIT for you to watch it! It's a kooky, fun mystery that is SO different from any of the MCU films. Plus, it's ALL about one of your favorite Marvel characters (Wanda)!

Jeff E

For some reason, it's on Starz, if you happen to have that lol. If not, both Hulu and Amazon offer 7-day free trials for Starz as an add-on service.

Mr K

Love this film, very glad you didn't skip Vacation by The Go-Gos at the end, too. 😍

@15:33 is the reason I joined.

Nicholas Sulikowski

Regarding webbing in this movie: the idea of Peter having mechanical web shooters and artificial webbing is something that goes back to the original 60s Spider-Man comics, as well as the main and current Marvel comics universe, dubbed Earth-616. And we also see this in the MCU, as well as in the Amazing Spider-Man films with Andrew Garfield. The reason is to show that Peter isn't just lucky to be bitten by a radioactive spider, but he is also incredibly smart and creative, and makes guys like Otto Octavius and Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) take notice that he's gifted. And this is usually the version favored by comics fans. Meanwhile in the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Trilogy, as well as in the Ultimate Marvel comics universe (Earth-1610), they went with organic webbing that Peter just produces from his body. Ultimate Marvel FTW was an alternate kind of reboot universe that they started in the early 00s to re-introduce Marvel to a new generation, and it ran side by side with the main Earth-616 universe for a time.

Anonymous

You gotta watch wandavision. If you were a fan of her character before, seeing her in the full spotlight with her own series is gonna be so satisfying for you to watch. You gotta find time for it

Anonymous

Nat, Spider-Man's webs don't organically come out of his wrists in the comics. Peter invents the web fluid, which he stores in cartridges that he loads into his wristbands to shoot the webs. When they made the first Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie, they changed it so the webs were one of his powers and they shot straight out of his wrists organically. They made that change because they felt that at the time, it would be too difficult to explain how a high school kid could invent the web fluid and construct the web shooter wristbands. So far, Tobey's Spider-Man is the only one with organic webs, as they went ahead and had Spider-Man use web shooters when they rebooted the franchise with Andrew Garfield, and Tom's Spider-Man also uses web shooters as well.

thescourge

Great reaction Nat! Can’t wait for Wanda Vision reactions!

Nathan Beorn Schillo

I'm so looking forward for you to watch Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I'm sure you'll love it. ❤

Chief

Any intention of checking out the shows like Daredevil?

Lucifer Moon

The drones could easily create wind actually. The technology is not actually that sophisticated on the affecting physical matter aspect, the illusion aspect is actually the more complicated part.

Anonymous

You missed the most important part of the first end credit scene. I’m so disappointed. 🤦‍♂️. Great reaction anyway. Go back and finish the clip. 😂

Anonymous

I get that you kind of want a break from Marvel but I just wanted to mention that the new TV Shows are meant to be a Part of the MCU, they initiate the next phase and so far I really like them - they have incredble production value, I think especially Wandavision would be a great watch for you since you seem to like her character a lot!

Daniel Vezina

1 use infinity gauntlet https://youtu.be/zm_M0LLdlCg

Jason Dolan

Kind of genius that you mistake Whitney Houston for Celine Dion and then later in the movie Peter Parker mistakes AC/DC for Led Zeppelin. You can't even plan that. Bravo.

Squ33ky

Real spidey make his web slingers

Lucile Byrd

It is understandable that Mysterio being the bad guy is a plot twist since you have not read the comics. Most of us marvel fans knew he was the villain from the previews. I have seen other reactors, though, who claim to be comic fans, one even said he was a big Spiderman comic buff, who did not know that Mysterio was the bad guy.

Sean Irvin

I was pretty suspicious when I saw the trailers. Obv I knew Mysterio is a villain, but I was like, "wait...Marvel Studios has done some pretty big rewrites and retcons for the MCU, but making Mysterio a *hero*?? That's a BIG ONE!"
