I have such a vivid memory of seeing this movie in the theater with one of my roommates in college, at the Westcott Cinema down the street from where we lived our junior year at Syracuse, and being both blown away and utterly confused. Which, I mean... is kinda the point? Such a good film. Who doesn't love Guy Pearce?

Guy Pierce is excellent in LA Confidential.

The beginning is the end and the end is the beginning. The end of a scene is the beginning of the last scene. Really good editing.

I am by no means mad at you! I am however - flabbergasted that you didn't cry on this one. I cried when i saw it the first time, and that was after a worthless piece of genetic material spoiled most of it for me as they were handing me the DVD at the rental place. Yeah. But i've seen you cry at many movies that never made me tear up. I'm kind of always in that heady space, but his situation throughout really moved me, and the realization that the person that ended his wife's life...... Just in case someone reads these comments before watching the movie, i won't elaborate on that. A bit of trivia that might interest you and others in this community - the original writer of the story, Jonathan, brother of Christopher Nolan - is also the showrunner of Fallout!

2024-05-20 20:28:16 I kind of agree with your about this film in regards to story. From a technical perspective, and in terms of concept and acting, it's an excellent idea and well executed. But storywise, it does feel a bit thin. I think Christopher Nolan just really wanted to do this concept of a film running in reverse, and someone who can't form new short term memories. It's a neat idea. But the plot itself I think is so thin, that this really is just more about the concept. At worst, it's almost like something from a college grad's thesis. And again, it IS a VERY good movie. But it definitely feels more style over substance. So it's kind of like, yes, very impressive for someone's second film. But also feels like someone's second film.

Nat's patrons are intelligent enough to guess what's what based on your clumsy comment. You just ruined it for new viewers. No need to elaborate. You've done enough damage. Congratulations chief. Now YOU are the DVD rental guy!
