...and the infinite sadness

fashionably late as usual, here's something i whipped up for october's appropriately spooky playlist which is i like to think is only slightly out of season (i listen to most of these songs all the time as is lol). the above cover is an homage to the smashing pumpkins' mellon collie and the infinite sadness, which i found out during looking up references, is actually a composite of two different historical paintings. wild huh?

if you guys happen to be curious, i plan to finish up the monthly covers for at least this year if nothing else. it's been a really fun project even if, like a lot of things i put together, they can take a bit of time to actually get out of the door. really my only concern is having enough variety to sequence tracks together that i really like and think work well side-by-side, whilst also working with album covers that let me incorporate the girls in some way going on into the future.

i like to think i have a decently varied taste and there's definitely quite a few homages id certainly like to get to, but it's definitely not off the table that come next year i might have to hold off a bit, if only till i have enough material to fit the criteria ive set out for myself for this lil ongoing side project. basically, as long as i feel i've put something worthwhile together, you'll likely see pear and maple in this sort of context for the forseeable future (give or take a month).

oh, and the next cover will likely feature no clothes whatsoever, but perhaps not exactly in the way you might expect...

tl;dr: planning to finish up the whole album covers proj at least to the end of 2022, then hopefully 2023 and beyond depending on how much i can consistently come up with

Smashing Pumpkins own. Siamise Dream is my favorite album. But Mellon Collie is also really good. 1979 is good taste.
