Space Springhare Habitat (Patreon)

Space Springhares build their habitats and structures out of the same material the build their ships and many other items: Bonewood China.

One of the more common basic forms of space habitats for Space Springhares are what some jokingly call the "Cake Stand", a three tier structure.

Highly adaptable, this design can take into account various forms of artificial gravity down to an eincluding the most basic kinds of spin gravity, where the sections are internally repositioned to work with spinning, and largest and smallest sections spin differently from the middle to offer stabiltiy.

While the exact layouts vary from habitat to habitat, in general the smallest section is used for holding and processing all docking requirements, the middle section houses support systems for the structure as a whole as well as workplaces, and the larger section houses the habitation and ecology of the habitat, which is generally forested with various Plantanimals being tended.

Sizes and populations of such habitats vary considerably, with upwards of a several thousand springhares potentially living in them, or at little as single digits. Though the vast majority of these habitats lay dormant or abandoned, waiting in the depths of space where other species would never bother to go let alone live.. the perfect place for a springhare to settle new burrow.
