Weekly Update!! Lots of stuff done for the new commission animation! (Patreon)

Hello to all you wonderful people on here :D

I've got a lot of images to show you all about the commission I am working on and it's been pretty crazy in getting Wraith's cloaked texture to look good and brainstorming with the client on different lighting options and poses so lets dive in!

Images #1 and #2 are two of the final poses that will be in this animation and what you see in these images are two different lighting options which haven't been decided on yet but the client is leaning more to the option on the right. It's a tough decision as we both really like both options but even I am leaning more to the right lighting option as it lights the scene a bit more and you start getting some purple and pink colours on Yui and the environment which matches her hair and her outfit. To keep with this purple colour theme I am also going to change the texture on the helmet so the red stripes will be a purple instead.

Images #3 and #4 are the exact same pose and lighting options you saw in the previous images but it's with Wraith not being cloaked. For the client Wraith will cloaked for nearly the whole animation but I will most likely offer two variations of the animation where he is cloaked and one where he isn't. I still have some edits to do on his non cloaked texture as I want the white and orange parts to glow more.

Image #5 is showing all the lighting options that we have worked through so far. The top left option was my very first attempt at the lighting in this environment where I was going for a green hue overall but having a contrast of an orange colour highlighting Yui and Wraith. I wasn't very happy with how it was looking as to me the lighting came across quite flat and not very interesting to look at. I spent quite a bit of time looking at references for green lighting in interiors and stages and found that a green/ blue looks very nice and green/ orange looked very nice. So I deleted all the lights I had and started again working from my references and came up with four new options, the first being mainly green and blue tones, the second was a much stronger blue tone, the third was adding a orange tone and the last option was a mix of the blue and orange tone creating these nice purple hues in the image.

Image #6 is showing two poses that didn't make the final cut, the option on the left was developed further into the riding scene you saw in image #2 as the client liked the idea of Yui getting some action from behind, I'm glad about this decision as in this old version of the riding pose the butt area of Yui's trousers was looking really odd. The option on the right was based off one of the references the client sent me but compared to other poses I had created they weren't as sold on that one which is a shame as I quite liked this position but the standing pose you see in image #1 was something that we both preferred a lot more.

Image #7 is a a rough WIP for what will be happening in the intro and it came down to two choices either Yui being with Dwight or Yui talking to Dwight on the phone. It is leaning towards having Dwight there in person and the idea is that they are in a relationship but Yui will leave poor Dwight on his own and boink Wraith which is sad times for Dwight :( I built and lit this scene before I went through the lighting overhaul but this scene will have the same treatment where it will base off whichever final lighting option we go with.

Image #8 is the first look of the environment when I ported it into SFM and was messing around with the first lighting option. It's mostly empty as I don't like to start placing props everywhere until I've set up where the poses will be and what the camera is going to be looking at, there is no need to place so much detail into areas that you might never see. There is still one more scene to pose being the blowjob scene which is either going to take place in front of the small workbench or it will happen behind the car.

It's annoying I can't place the images in-between these paragraphs so it's easier for you all to follow with what I'm talking about. I did look into it and there might be a way if I upload the images to a image hosting site but considering most of this is NSFW it might not be possible. I have attached a file though of all the images you see above if you wanted to take a closer look that way :)

There is a lot going on here but it's been a lot of preparing, tweaking and finalizing the major scenes of the animation before things get animated but come next week the update won't be a huge block of text and hopefully will be some GIFs of the animated scenes!
