Hello everyone!! A new project has been started!! Now I spend a lot of time prepping the characters for this one and there is only a tiny bit left to do with Meg in regards to adding some dirt to her skin texture and she's missing her shoes!.

So as you can see from the images Meg has her topped open but only around the breasts the rest is still zipped up underneath but I did spend adding in 8 bones for her torso (4 on the left and 4 on the right) so I can animate her top opening or closing in different ways much like how it was on the Dwight and Laurie animation but this time I think I did it a lot better. She also has her trousers ripped around the crotch. I was contemplating how to approach the rip in her trousers and originally I was going to edit the 3D geometry to create the rip but I reckoned that it would of taken a lot longer to do so the approach I took instead was creating a alpha map for the trousers texture where certain things can be made to be transparent and creating the rip that way. So the trousers don't have a hole in them technically but with the edited texture it makes part of the texture invisible and we can see right through :D

Now onto Wesker! Straight away from seeing him in game with the cloth physics that move the lower half of his trench coat I knew that when I ripped the model from the game to use it would not have those cloth physics. So similar to Meg's torso I added bones to the lower half of his Trench coat, I had 5 bones each for a front, middle and back section (15 bones altogether) and this was done for the left and right side (30 bones altogether). I did the same thing of weighting the 3d geometry to these bones so when I move the bones it moves the geometry as well, lastly I turned all these bones into jiggle bones so now when I move Wesker in SFM the lower portion of the trench coat moves on it's own as if it has it's own cloth physics!

With his tentacle I had to tweak the bones a little bit with how they connect to each other to make animating it easier and the very last thing was setting up a camera in SFM that is pretty close to a Wesker POV and making the lenses on his sunglasses a texture of what the camera in seeing so it's a roundabout way of creating semi perfect reflections in SFM. You can see a example of it on the last image where the lenses are reflecting a Meg model that is in front of him.

Sadly there isn't anything too crazy to show off this week as it's more of the technical side of getting things ready but I hope you all find it interesting :) Starting next week I will be getting the environment ready for this one and we shall have the first position being animated! So you've got more juicy stuff next week coming with this one :D

That's all from me this week so I hope you have all had a great week and I wish you all an even better weekend! <3
