Women's month (Women Authors) (Patreon)
Content
Since it's women's month, I listed three women authors I've read and would love you guys to read too:
Book: Hyperbole and a Half
Author: Allie Brosh
This is a strikingly quirky collection of comics that dabbles into silly, borderline psychopathic, memories and tendencies Allie Brosh embodies. This book is relatable, hilarious, and shamelessly Allie Bros that you have to read it.
Book: The Bell Jar
Author: Sylvia Plath
The stunningly slow yet haunting slippery slope into a mental illness is protrayed in this novel through it's protagonist. There is so much said in this book that isn't explicitly said. This mirrors the author's insufferable demons which makes this novel a fundamental read.
Book: The Sparrow
Author: Mary Doria Russell
This novel is a heart-wrenching science fiction that references the Gospel of Matthew 10:29–31, which relates that not even a sparrow falls to the earth without God's knowledge thereof. Although the novel has religious undertones that deep-dives into human suffering, it stays unbelievably profound in describing love, friendship, and grief.
