We're at the finish line! This week has been brutal for most of us and it's only Tuesday. (Hahahaha--I found out today that my dog needs a 10-12,000 dollar surgery and we had to spend 1200 on tires yesterday, so I basically just want to melt into the ground now.)

The end is full of short chapters, so I barreled through because this has gone on long enough and we all want to get back to Big Trouble, Little Necromancer. Some of these chapters don't have much in the way of Easter Eggs, so you'll have to make do with just the chapter titles.

25-Stand By Your Man by Tammy Wynette. (Again, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies does a fun punk cover of this.) This chapter is mostly Sean being awesome, and a little of the Den, which I put in Issaquah because it's fun to say and has lots of woods, but is still close-ish to Seattle.

26-I Hear You Knockin' by Smiley Lewis, but I'm pretty sure I'm more familiar with the Fats Domino version. In this chapter, we find out the truth about Sam's binding. The line, "You know, some peaceful magical crap." might be the best sentence I've ever written. I should have just quit then.

27-Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar. This chapter is mostly Brid just losing her damn patience. She's been very patient up to this point. I would have yelled at Eric a long time ago.

28-The line "Your turquoise and silver won't weaken this old heart" is from the song Pentagram by Cake. Really, this whole song reminds me of Douglas. The story about Haley and Sam making the dog, Wallaby, pick--my husband and I did this once with my dog, Chaos. I'd had Chaos since I was 14. She was my dog. She was about 7 when she met my husband and used to shove me out of the way to get to him. (He still maintains he's not a dog person. He lies.) So we did this and Chaos trotted over to him while looking at me like, "Sorry, but what are you going to do, right?" Absolute betrayal. No joke, she would not only hug him, but sometimes she crawl between us while we were sleeping, and then straighten her legs and shove me off the bed.

In this chapter we also see Minion eating grass. Fictional Hangover, a fun book podcast, talked to me about my first two books and then did this awesome minion cosplay. The rest of this chapter is just me making you sad about Douglas.

29-Take Me Home Tonight--a fine 80's song by Eddie Money.

30-Papa Don't Preach is of course Madonna. Haley handles drama so well. This chapter is just her getting Sam and James over some stuff.

31--We are Family by Sister Sledge. Speaking of getting over stuff, this chapter is a nice snap shot of the household coming together and Sam getting over his guilt over Ramon.

32-I Never Promised you a Rose Garden--I think Lynn Anderson did this song first, but I love the Suicide Machines cover. (Told you I like cover songs.) This chapter includes: bigfoot hugs (I want one). Ariana being scary, and an Achilles reference justifying years and gobs of money spent on my undergraduate degree. Seriously though, if you've never read the Iliad, it's pretty great. I recommend listening to it on audio, because it was originally an oral tale. Also, I think Stephen Fry has a whole book on Troy now and I really want to read it.

Sam's tattoo at the end--we had shirts made with those tattoos. My husband still has one, and when I find it, I'll post a photo. They were designed by my friend Erika, who not only designed my shirts and totes for books one and two, but was a badass tattoo artist. She was also a big zombie nerd. The tattoo artist at the end modeled after her.  I miss the hell out of her.

That's it! We're done! New fiction pages soon. As usual, hit me up with any questions in the comments.
