I feel like you in that the first time i saw this episode I wasn't totally enamoured of the 'ghost' element. However, on rewatching, I really have come to love it. I recall how Ella told Luci she counted cards back in Las Vegas ( Vegas with some Radish) to quiet the voices- now we know who she meant exactly. I thought that was a nice call back. Do you recall also in 'A Trip to Stabby Town' how Luci said that 'Sis is no sweet peach' when referring to her and that Linda was surprised that the angel of Death was a 'chick'? Again, although technically seen as a 'filler' episode it had many call backs and tied up loose ends. I don't think the writers waste any episodes on fillers really. Also when it became clear that Azrael had turned up at the car crash to 'collect' Ella but it was a false alarm, I thought that was a clever twist and the 'ghost' thing was the writers messing with us! I like that we have met another sibling and seen just a little more into Luci's back story. The writers say to consider this episode as canon. Just remember Azrael... she was fun, but actually her role in the celestial side of things as the Angel of Death is dark. I did wonder why Luci didn't remark on how she should have kept a better handle on her blade though! The next episode could be seen as more of a stand alone episode but even that one, the writers have said should be seen as canon. It is another fun one. Thanks for another thoughtful reaction. I always enjoy your 'take' on episodes and splot lines.
