I don't think Haley expected to be forgiven. I think it's more that she is wearing her regret on her sleeve, especially since she understands now how much she loves Nathan and that she should have handled things differently. Showing remorse is important even if it doesn't fix things right away.

I agree. I don't think Haley was expecting anything but to be heard. She is the most forgiving, patient, supportive, and understanding person, especially with Nathan. It's the reason she was able to get through to him when no one else was. I think she wanted a little of that in return. Nathan is just not that person. At least not now. While he has grown, he does revert back to certain patterns. He gets angry, cuts people out and holds onto grudges. Ofc his anger is justified here and nobody expects him to just forgive her, but does that mean he can't even have a conversation with her? A lot of their problems in season 2 could have just been talked out, but they BOTH lack the ability to communicate. Haley, made a mistake in how she handled everything, but like she said, she can't go back and change it. What else can she do, but try to make him understand what took her time to figure out. I don't think that's naive. She's trying to do what she failed to do before. Talk to him about how she was feeling. I sympathize with both and can really understand both sides. It's tough to watch. I don't like watching how he's talking to her now any more than I liked watching what Haley was doing to him then. Needless to say, she has her work cut out for her if she's going to save her marriage, cuz Nathan is not having it. I love the drama. Good stuff!
