It was good to get back into the main plot even though we learned a little more about Cain/Pierce and his motivations, it still left us wanting to know more answers to other questions! It will unfold eventually but the writers are weaving so many threads that will take time to be completed. I wouldn't worry too much about the police procedurals as they are only written to help hang the plot upon or as you said get us from A to B in developing characterisations or helping Luci understand his own feelings. Sometimes it is just that but there are more episodes this season and beyond where the police procedural story is more connected to the main plot and I always enjoy those episodes. All the while Lucifer was on FOX TV, the writers (they have said in interviews) were fighting against what FOX wanted (a police procedural with the Devil working for the LAPD- ha ha that will be funny) and what they really wanted to do which was delve more into the mythology and the story of Lucifer, who he is and his interactions with humanity and the effect they have on him and him on them. They pushed the boundaries as far as they could! I am excited to see your reaction to episode 13 and then watch more with you as the second half of this season really picks up to one of the best finales of a season that I think I have ever seen. Thank you for your reactions and well done for calling so much correctly so far but there are many more surprises to come and like you I was loving the unfolding stories around Ella( she is a precious little jewel and must be protected!) so bravo Charlotte Richards for standing up for what is right, also Amenadiel and Linda... and Maze (Oh my!) Apologies for long post but I am loving the rewatch with you and hearing your thoughts.
