Thanks for the reaction. Just a quick reminder: the reason as to why Lucifer can't simply go down to hell is because he doesn't have his wings anymore. Amenadiel doesn't have his wings as well.

Such a phenomenal episode! You are right about the music- chef's kiss indeed. So much of the music choices in this season and going forward are so well chosen and the lyrics so perfect to evoke all the feels that whoever was in charge of the musical soundtrack deserves multiple awards. I have the Lucifer soundtrack for all six seasons on my regular playlist now. Thanks again for another thoughtful reaction. I know the question why can't Lucifer just magically go back and forth to Hell has been answered in other comments but if you recall back in the pilot episode Amenadiel came back to fly Lucifer to Hell and in season 1 episode 4, Lucifer tells Chloe ( she doesn't believe him) that he cut his wings off and we see that confirmed in episode 6 and 7. and without his wings he cannot fly himself down to Hell and thus must stay on earth (hence Amenadiel trying to have him killed to return him to Hell, where he believed he should be) The Pentacostal coin was a special ticket to and from though as well but of course that was one use only and has been used at the end of season 1. it seems the angels can fly between Heaven, Hell and earth- as long as they have wings! Like you, I was scared that if Luci's plan failed this episode, and he died unable to be resuscitated then he really would be trapped in Hell with no way back. It was scary and such a powerful and beautiful episode. Kudos to all the cast for giving us this and the writers for creating it. I can't wait to see what you make of episode 14. (I am smiling to myself already to guess what your reaction will be!)
