Amazing reaction as always! It's so fun to see someone going into the show blind and being immediately hooked! The way that the tension was being slowly but surely cranked up and up in the first act was done really well. As you mentioned, sound design (more importantly, lack of music) was really top notch in the pre-outbreak portion. RE: the second half in the present. In the game, dealing with Robert and breaking out of the QZ at Boston is basically the tutorial, so it's definitely one of the weaker parts as far as storytelling goes. I think this translated to the episode, although it definitely wasn't a bad act, just not as good as that first 30-40 minutes. Veronica's name is definitely Ellie (I know you heard Marlene call her by Ellie and got confused). I need to go back and rewatch, but unless I'm mistaken, she's just giving the name of Veronica to be sarcastic/a nuisance/keep her real name secret (or a combo of all three!) from her "captors". Finally, not a spoiler (well, something about the game equivalent parts of what you've just watched): they're already sneaking in some twists and turns to catch out people who played the game and are expecting certain events to happen. When they're in the long sequence driving in the truck through the town, Joel shouts like "Tommy, look out" and they nearly get hit by a car (but avoid it). In the game, you get hit by that car and this is when the crash occurs that injures Sarah. Just thought it was cool to mention because that certainly threw my off when watching, and I'm sure it won't be the last time they do something like that!

Characters names just to help you remember: Joel, Ellie (Veronica was a fake name) Marlene, Tommy, Tess, and then of course Joel's daughter was Sarah. Great reaction, I would classify the infected as monsters just because people don't actually die and come back to life, here. Still, it certainly falls under the Zombie umbrella as far as broad entertainment genre.
