We're updating the stat UI to have some new features. Specifically, you can see what level you are, what your current experience threshold is, and how much loyalty a character has. You can also equip and unequip items here. At the bottom you can clearly see the lineup of icons for monsters and companions!

Loyalty is something we've spoken about before, and it means different things for monsters and companions. For companions, it is the thing that unlocks their full progression of one of their abilities, and it can be grown by completing story quests and giving gifts.

Monster Loyalty is gained via spending time with them, working with them directly, breeding and/or milking them, traveling with them and keeping them in your party rather than leaving them to be trained and operate your farm. Monster Loyalty has no direct impact on Stats, but when their indenture with you ends and the Guild Pays you for their progress, you are given the opportunity to keep them, and the Guild will give you a hefty bonus payment as well! They will continue to use up resources and such, and will grow stonger and stronger until they reach their cap. Importantly, a monster who you have gained the loyalty of cannot be sold to the Guild, instead, you have to pay the Guild for giving them up, as the Guild is responsible for finding them a new home.

Okay but how will you get rid of monsters once you've bred far better ones? Will you have any reason to hang onto the weaker early game monsters?

Wao! Nice !

Sleepnir

Blimey, that's a lot of EXP! That last sentence of the description doesn't really make sense and contradicts an earlier part of the same paragraph. "Monster Loyalty has no direct impact on Stats, but when their indenture with you ends and the Guild Pays you for their progress, you are given the opportunity to keep them, and the Guild will give you a hefty bonus payment as well!" yet "a monster who you have gained the loyalty of cannot be sold to the Guild"?

Awesome.

Beaches

Idk if this was already said, but is there color variations of the same monster or cosmetic differences? Or maybe traits or preferences the monster prefers to breed with?

... What does milking do? Whenever I do it, it just says it cloned to other or something. I don't get it. ... Is it not like in Breeding Season where you get an animation of the farmer milking the monster?

Dream Tree

IIRC, milking doesn't give you the chance for an egg, but it does give you more essence. I think milking animations is in the 'would be awesome to have but probably just not enough time will all the animation already needed'.

PervMASTER

I wouldn't mind not having them since there is already gonna have a lot of sex animations with the farmers and the monster x monster animations but-- doesn't it seem useless? Of course I wish they would add milking animations but. If it's just made for idk what and selling ... I don't know.

Dream Tree

Essence can also be used as fertilizer for your plants IIRC. So getting extra essence does have some gameplay benefits.

Variants are VS Genderbeds and more monsters in a vote later on after to determine where to go with the game. I personally doubt variants would win over those two though. There was talk of possibly color, but only color since that's easier to add than cosmetic differences like hair. It's not set in stone though.

Conter

Essence is also used to power up stuff (like your 4th ability) and later on to unlock Chimera and Dragon.

PervMASTER

Oh ok. I did like how it worked in Breeding Season.
