Test Voting (Patreon)

Judge Heath here. This is a test to see if this method of voting will work in the long term. Please do not comment until I have the options up.  I will post a comment that will state "Voting Options" below. Then I'll put comments attached to that one for you guys to choose from. You can make further comments below, but avoid replying directly to the new comment unless you have a new option.

Click on the title of this page, or on "load more comments" below, and then scroll until you see the voting options post.

You cast a vote by clicking the "Like" button for that option's comment. You may vote multiple times, no need for an honor system.

PS: S-Purple all but killed himself on last night's stream, going for 18 hours straight or so including prep work before that and cleanup and organizational work after. He'll probably be late tonight.

That's what I'm worried about as well. I'll generally be deleting comments if they're made to voting options that don't match, and I might make some 'comment storage space' for moving comments about if I have to delete them.

I believe this will work out. It saves the trouble of using another site or source for the voting system without getting too complicated.

That was the concern as well. We thought about using some polling or voting sites, but there would be no way of making them actually secure except by honor system. At least this way we can limit the votes.

I think this will work, only the patrons donating 20 and up can see this right?

Please tell S-Purple to take care of himself, none of us want him to harm his health. He may feel he has alot to prove but he is already off to a good solid start.

Yo, is there anyway to record the streams, and have them available for download via patreon or such? I'd love to be able to catch any I miss, and enjoy seeing the art process from start to finish.

That's technically what this method is. And I'm not sure even if we could make a system that hooked into Patreon's, if we could make it also check if they're supporting our game and at what level?

This is a nice and simple method, however voting for both options appears to be possible. Is that likely to cause problems?

No, the intent was that we would set it up so you could vote that way, and we'd put the votes in order of priority for our own designs. IE: All things being equal, we'll make the asset higher on the list. And people CAN unlike things if they change their mind.

This method might potentially work, but how are you going to apply it to those times, when only 20$ patrons are supposed to be voting? Edit: Sorry, nevermind. I didn't realize that it's possible to adjust the posts' visibility depending on the size of a donation. In such case, I'm all up for this way of voting :D

Yes, please let S-purple know that we support him despite what was the drama in the previous project. He shouldn't overheat himself so early, because that might make him start hating working on the project in a long run, or create fake expectations for some people, and again lead to negative comments and opinions in the future. Just tell him and Fuzz to pace themselves ;)

I know it's possible to save the streams on picarto (Spurple's streams are saved) but I think you need the premium account in order to be able to save those. However it is possible to check the stream (without the chat) on his channel <a href="https://picarto.tv/Spurple," rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://picarto.tv/Spurple,</a> under "videos" (you can only see the latest stream and only before the next one starts though). Fuzzamorous is not saving his streams at the moment unfortunately. I hope that helps? :)

yes, but with a validation and a multiple choice page is best but that method is good too. i think The simbro team use that method... but i'm not sure

Well i'll be honest, that isn't a problem. If someone votes for both, then all that is doing is hurting the person that is voting and not the system. Why? Because voting for both would mean it negates their own vote. In the end, its as if there vote never existed.

I would just post survey monkey links as the comments system can let you vote for many answers at once. Even an google forms survey would work.

Not totally true. The first vote for $20 patrons is going to have around 11 options. So yeah, if they vote for everything it negates their vote. It will be a rare vote we hold that has only 2 options like this one did.
