Judge Heath here,

It's an exciting time for us this month because we're finally in the homestretch of Alpha, and about ready to move into Beta as one of the last major systems is put into place. The crafting system is up and running, as is the ability to change the quality levels of the plants. There's some cool stuff operating under the hood, but if you remember this post from back in the day, we finally got it working! Essence is now used as fertilized, and is represented by the watering can Icon with the F, you can pick up fertilizer from the seed bin beside the wells! By balancing your watering, the usage of your monsters, and essence, you'll be able to get amazing quality crops that will give you all you could hope for in terms of the quality of your crops!

Crop Quality is important this time around, because it effects the new cooking system, which you can find inside of your house. From there you can cook prepared recipies, or experiment and try to discover more of them! If it turns out to be too hard to discover more, we'll start adding in guides within the game, or publish something for our users to mull over. I'll give a hint here and now, if you just mix and match raw crops, then you'll end up only with healthy snackbars, but if you buy groceries from Yonten, you'll be able to discover other things. The little boar at the bottom will give you some tips, and will also let you know how many recipes remain for you to discover.

We've also added some tentacular-vine bondage action with Jaero to the album! We hope you enjoy the sticky sweet nectar treats he'll be pumping into Evan and Eve.

Also, if you walk around Cloverton, you'll surely notice the new 'static camera' system we're playing around with for certain areas, to maximize your viewing pleasure and hopefully show off more of the game while simultaneously making it easier to navigate and play.

Finally we've added the interior of the mill, but not the functionality of it. That will be coming some time during next month. Along with that, we hope to hash out the skill system, weather and seasons, and the new cheat system (which we hope to include a way to alter the traits of your monsters so you guys can test them all out for us). It'll also come with plenty of Male Holstaur fun, and hopefully at least the first sexloop of Kreyton x Eve. We'd have had the first sexloop of Male Holstaur x Evan this month, but February rained on that plan by being too short.

Once those systems are in, we hope to add the seasonal events, and the monthly contests. Once those have been added, then all that will be left is a single month of final cleanup on features, as we prune and clip and add on the last bits of necessary systems, and we'll be moving into beta finally!

Thank you all, each and every one of you, for standing by us until this point and helping us along. We hope to see you here when we move into beta!

I have a constant problem and is that when It passed like 8 or 7 days the game doesnt save or load and all my progress is lost, and is starting to piss me off.

Try to read the entire text from this alpha build. There you can read a little further down: Saves are not Compatible*. And what that means, I'll explain to you, that means you should not complain that you can not save the game.

jose hernandez

No u didnt read my comment correctly. What I said Is, That after day 7 or 8 I cant create new saves, in the NEW build and all the progress i make to that point I lost it. IN THE NEW BUILD.

The Mac version keep crashing when you finish the intro and the game is about to begin

I wonder what happened to that UI you posted a link to. It was better than current one.

CloudMeadow

The current in game UI is the functional rather than polished UI. The look will be updated as we move along in development.

Sorry Sedious, that's not what it means at all. Thanks for the update @Jose, this is important for us to know. We keep finding new bugs in the saving system, can you please give us a link to your output log? You can find it in C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\CompanyName\ProductName\output_log.txt What's happening is you're getting some item, monster, feature, or ability that says it should exist, but is being passed improperly into the save file around day 7 or 8, and that causes the whole thing to explode. Without us knowing what that thing is, we can't solve this issue. Obviously we need to find that thing, because it's pure luck that has prevented anybody else from reporting this before now or us from running into it in our internal builds. Edit: Basically, we are 100% certain the save system in and of itself is working as intended, but individually bugged components that get logged -into- that system can screw the whole thing up.

Hi! I've used Wine to open all the other builds and it's worked with no problem, but I was trying to open this one and it says the game has encountered an error and must crash. Is it the game itself or the fact that I'm using Wine? Not sure how to send the error report to you using a Mac...

CloudMeadow

~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log is where you can find the log we'll want to look at.

So excited!! Ive been waiting for the Farming content for months now. So happy I can do more now and even cook.

Lion

crashes on my Mac before getting to any gameplay, just get to view the intro and then crashes

jose hernandez

Thats gonna be a problem..... I erased the previous version and the log of the crashes, but that problem basically forced me to close and re-open the game. If that happens again i will make a copy of the log. Also how I can send u the output log? By the discord account?

jose hernandez

But to everyone thats is wondering what exactly has been happening, I can tell u this. In the november, last patched build, I had atleast every monster available to purchase, that includes those that doesnt have an animation just an icon and a presence (male arpy, female cyclops, etc.). I couldnt save in a new slot and when I over-write my usual save slot the game basically turn it into a blank slot with 0 evrything. Then in the January build I choose to not buy every monster but only those that have an animation but after I xpanded my island and created a second farm and an incubator I put some eggs and right after that when I tried to save the game did it again. Ruining 5 hours of play.

jose hernandez

SO this is my teory, dont buy creatures that doesnt have an animation as of now (verify in the album in the main menu), and dont risk it with the eggs probably 1 of them have a monster that doesnt have an animation.

KageYoshi

i can't even open it

I do not believe that to be related. In the previous build, I owned many monsters that had no animations and was able to save properly. All of the Lamias I owned were male (couldn't hatch a female Lamia for the life of me, fml), I owned two male Harpies, one male Holstaur and 2 female Centaurs. I was able to save just fine, and was 1.5 months in. I also owned 4 or 5 farm expansions with 1 extra incubator and 4 extra barns, along with several of the non-functioning structures like training grounds and crafting mill. Put simply, you will have to do more stringent testing if you want to solve the issue, as the one you described does not seem to be 100% reproducible. What build are you on, windows or linux? I'm guessing not mac given you had this issue in Nov 2017 before Mac builds were out. Have you tried saving into new file slots instead of overwriting? Have you tried a bit of save scumming to find what exactly might be breaking your saves? How often did you save? Was there anything else you did between saves besides buying monsters? Literally even anything as much as walk around after purchase. Try saving while standing next to the monster seller, backing up that save file, buying a non-animation monster, saving again and finally attempt to load that save file. Also write down/remember the exact real life time you perform these actions. The logs are probably timestamped and you can use that to find out what you were doing when an error occurred.

Some bugs: the taunt effect doesn't seem to work, the icon above the enemy will disappear but they will attack whoever they want. I also had a Demon egg in the incubator and went to hatch it, but instead of getting the window to name it, the icon changed to "Hatch X Egg" where X is any of the names the game comes up with. It wouldn't hatch at all, the icon just kept cycling through various names. Sometimes, fertilizer will not be applied: I click the button and it consumes the Essence, but the patch of soil doesn't get the colored ring and it isn't fertilized. And as a general note, I think there are too many ingredients to make experimenting very practical. There are SO many possible combinations that finding the right ones is very difficult. Perhaps there could be a chef character in-game that you could pay to teach you recipes, if you don't feel like wasting the time and ingredients experimenting with inedible failures haha

its crashing on mac right before it loads the game after the intro.
