For people who don't know, I made other games before Caliross. One of them  is Tales of the Drunken Cowboy (TOTDC). You can find more about it on my blog (you should find all the links you need there). The game used the RAGS engine, so it's a but unwieldy, but I think it was a nice effort overall. Since the game's story was left unfinished, I should eventually get back to it, but I am having some doubts on how to proceed.

The game used a not-so-great engine, as I mentioned, and back then when I wasn't really trying to make a living off of it, I was using any pictures I could find on the internet (which isn't really advisable).

Anyway, long story short, I'd like to know what people's preferences are regarding style (real life pictures, 2d, 3d) and engine (RAGS, Twine, other). If you didn't play TOTDC, just tell me your preferences in general, that's fine too.

This poll will gather votes for the artstyle, and the other one for the engine (just to keep things clean).

Basically, to use real life pictures, I'd have to keep the entire thing off Patreon, likely as a side project, but it's not impossible. Things would likely be easier for me if I kept it on Patreon, but of course, there are also more expenses as a main project, so just vote for your preferences, if you have any.

No promises on whether I follow your advice (it's going to decide the course of a few years of my life, so I am considering my own thoughts carefully), but of course I am asking for a reason, as I'd really like to know. Thanks for your time. :)
