Jeremy: Another day, another massive file download. I hope you're not on a limited data plan for your Retronauts bonus feed, because this one's a doozy—as usual for Retronauts Radio episodes, I've posted this in stereo at maximum MP3 bitrate quality so that you can appreciate the tunes ripped and posted here in the best fidelity possible. Although this episode does include a brief except of the 1942 "soundtrack," so perhaps that effort is inherently wasted? Well, we'll see. As usual, this is my attempt at public access radio... I tried hosting a program on my university's "underground" radio station, but then it turned out that the transmitter didn't actually work. So, you know, working through a lot of pent-up stuff here.

This episode contains a blend of new vinyl releases and vintage records. It's a bit less of a crowd-pleaser than some, but that's just how my brain works these days. "Oooh that's interesting" sparks more joy than "oooh that's gonna net the downloads." But bear with me and perhaps you too shall be charmed by the cutting-edge-40-years-ago vibes of Super Xevious! Or if nothing else, at least there's Shantae. All the kids love Shantae.

Recordings this episode:

06:25 - Super Xevious
19:28 - Capcom Game Music Vol. I
32:41 - Konami Arcade Classics Collection
43:15 - Valis Collection II
1:01:05 - Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
1:18:42 - Revenge of Shinobi (2023 reissue)
1:31:01 - Wipeout: The Zero Gravity Soundtrack
1:49:12 - Hawkwind: Space Ritual 50th Anniversary

Retronauts Radio rules. Thanks, Jeremy!

I love Jeremy's commitment to having these episodes be as hi-fidelity as possible. If I could, I'd pay Jeremy full-time just to host an entire radio sttaion where all he does is play videogame music and then pause every 10-15 minutes to talk about it.
