Hey, Mickey! You’re so fine! It seemed pretty apt that I (Stuart Gipp; hullo) eventually got around to an episode about Sega’s totally iconic Thingummy Of Illusion series, given that one of them is my favourite game of all time and one of the reasons I got into this whole “computered games” lark in the first place. Joining me in this extremely important endeavour are the roguish presences of John Linneman and Thomas Nickel, the three of us mutually engaged in our persistent taking of the Mickey. And speaking of Mickey, this episode is far from Minnie. Mini. Because it covers the entire series, with the exception of the recently released Illusion Island, because it was recorded ‘afore that one done comed out. Look, I’ll cover it here, now: it’s alright. Done. Bosho.

It’s a series of games with a surprising amount of detail to go into and a nice spread from amazingly brilliant to embarrassingly crappy, though most of the games thankfully err on the side of “v’good”. We’ve got more cartoon-and-comic-license-based episodes of Retronauts to come, too; you know I like my platform games and it’s said platform games that I’m turning my focus on for the foreseeable. Hoping that you will enjoy the fun! And if not, you can just make fun of how bad I am at ending podcasts. And podcast descriptions. Like this one. It’s over now. Bye.

This episode piqued my interest enough to make me want to try out these games again after playing CoI for like an hour as a kid. I bought the PS3 remake on sale but never played it and now my PS3 doesn't work anymore so I might have to bust out the 360.

Strider Hiryu walked on the ceiling in 1989, does that count?
