In 1988, filmgoers around the world were introduced to a little guy named Roger Rabbit, who seemingly promised to usher in a new Golden Age of animation. But in terms of this medium's history, he was just a blip on the radar; after five short years and three short shorts, Roger Rabbit left us entirely. (And then came the dawn of Bonkers...) But, believe it not, this half-decade spawned five distinct Roger Rabbit games that tried their best to adapt the frantic adventures of this flailing floofball. On this episode of Retronauts, we implore you to join Bob Mackey, Henry Gilbert, and Stuart Gipp as the crew dives headfirst into the dip to see if any Roger Rabbit games are worth salvaging. Don't make us say p-p-p-please!

Hear me out: A L.A. Noire style game but its Roger Rabbit.

Every time I hear someone say "Donkey Kong '94" it's like nails on a chalkboard. It's a bad nickname born from the misconception that the game was named "Donkey Kong". The game is "Game Boy Donkey Kong". It's on all Japanese packaging, and even on the title screen. Similar to the game "Virtual Boy Wario Land", which nobody calls "Wario Land '95".

Stuart Gipp

Everyone knows what game is meant by that title so it’s the best and most efficient way to describe it
