Well, I almost had this early episode posted by the end of Monday (Pacific Time, anyway), but then Patreon had to go offline for a few hours and I missed it. Alas, Patreon.

But, here it is somewhat slightly late: Retronauts episode 86, also known as Retronauts Radio 2. I took all the feedback I received after last month's trial episode to heart and... didn't really change much, honestly. This time around, I gave a bit more play time to several tracks, I tweaked the flow, and I tried to feature an even mix of free, modestly priced, and premium goods. I hope you enjoy it! I haven't had a chance to listen to the completed episode yet, so I apologize in advance if there's any weirdness here.

Our second Retronauts Radio looks at notable retro-themed game music releases for February: Castlevania II, a Final Fantasy Tactics tribute, Revenge of Shinobi, Etrian Odyssey remixes, and a ton of SEGA jams! Art by Jon Stachewicz.

Skimming through, gotta say that I like the format. Some good songs on this one. Man, I don't know why no one has really done much with the original Shinobi arcade music. It still is one of my favorite SST band works. ROS is still beyond classic, though, and Data Discs did an excellent job with their collection.

Listened to the whole thing on my commute to the airport. Really enjoyed this one. Good mix of music and commentary. And any episode where you can feature both Koshiro and Sakimoto (sort of) is a winner in my book.

I love this format, but they've proved detrimental to my wallet. The previous episode led to me buying Panzer Dragoon, Mondo's Castlevania 2, and a turntable.

I love the music episodes. Great work on the last one, Jeremy!

Love the content, but pulling my contribution due to @bobservo attacks on @notaxation and Kinda Funny.

I absolutely love this episode. The small changes you've made since the last radio have changed my mind. I want one of these every month. You absolutely made my day with the The Bwak Choir Cadets.

I really enjoyed this episode. I've been trying to pass on the word to my friends about Sega's offerings on Spotify since they were added a few weeks ago. Additionally, I absolutely love Yuzo Koshiro's little snippets that he put up on his Soundcloud.

As much as I enjoyed the first of these, this new episode is even better. Looking forward to this becoming a regular feature. Picking both new vinyl releases for collectors in addition to featuring hidden gems like Yuzo Koshiro's retro Soundcloud account strikes a new balance.

"Retro gaming news of note." Well done! Really enjoying the new episode.

I love these episodes, partially because I stop listening and then go track down the actual full length songs to listen to. They take hours to listen to!

The Zodiac album is on Spotify, and I also highly recommend Ramza's Song. Great adaptation and just the right level of melancholy. Ramza does have quite the tragic story, even if Delita might have ended up worse off.

Another great episode, Jeremy, but I thought you maybe went on about the Materia Collective's FFT album a little too long. The group is pretty prolific, so maybe a look at the groups overall output and history would have made a fine episode on its own.

Some suggestions for the next Retronauts Radio episode: Black Materia/Mega Ran's FF7 project, and a look at retro-inspired music available on Bandcamp: Mitch Murder, SEXY-SYNTHESIZER, Brave Wave original releases, Halloween Forever OST, VA-11 HALL-A, GALAK-Z are a few examples.

I liked the first episode, but I loved this one! I feel like I learned a lot and I got to hear a bunch of stuff I didn't even know about. That Etrian Odyssey stuff was incredibly cool. I appreciate you mentioning Spotify/Soundcloud tracks as well as the vinyl stuff, but I'm getting a funny feeling that by the end of the year I'm going to start spending my money on game vinyl. Keep up the excellent work! This is an episode I see myself coming back to in the future :)
