Hello friends, apologies for the somewhat late post on this week's exclusive. We didn't have cover artwork for it, and I faffed around with a few different sketch concepts before realizing—I've forgotten how to draw! So, apologies also for the iffy cover. I don't know that anyone really considers our cover art a dealbreaker, but I hate to put anything besides our best foot forward.

HOWEVER.

I am pleased to say that the actual content of this exclusive episode will more than make up for the grim Photoshop bodge job I've attached to it. We have reached the end of another year, which means that (as always) the time has come for us to look 50... 40... 30... and 20 years into the past to discuss the biggest events of those years and mark just how far Video Gaming has come in that time. Not a whole lot happened in 1973 by way of video gaming, though, so I called in not one, not two, but THREE ringers capable of giving you way more information than you thought could ever be possible to extract from such a seemingly non-existent year in video game history. Thanks to the vast pools of knowledge that are the brains of Benj Edwards, Kevin Bunch, and Jared Petty, we talked so much about 1973 that we didn't actually manage to finish our 1983 discussion! Despite this being a 2-hour-plus conversation! Heck.

Anyway, we'll be following up soon to wrap ’83 and tackle ’93, and Bob will be covering 2003 before too long as well. We'll try to make it sequential in order to minimize any confusing time-jump effects.

Always happy to see these come up. I also really appreciate the Game Galaxy reference as someone that is close enough to live by an arcade still (Game Galaxy in Nashville).

That one on one music hit different. Used to play Jordan Vs Bird all the time growing up. I would get frustrated because I could never get the dunks in the dunk competition to go in lol
