Your patron-exclusive episode this week is also a patron-request episode. That's wild! But not as wild as this week's topic: Jumping Flash! and, by extension, developer Exact. Patron Scott Rothman absolutely twisted our arm to make us (that's myself, aka Jeremy Parish, and Todd "kidfenris" Ciolek) talk about a series and studio we love.

Although the bulk of this conversation revolves around Robbit (mon dieu!), we cover the full span of Exact's career, beginning with their early X68000 obscurities and ending with their high-profile PS1 hit Ghost in the Shell. It's a hoppin' good time.

Art by John Pading (no... Robbit...) and edits by Greg Leahy.

Apparently, Ultra later became MuuMuu. Their website is still mostly live, but the homepage is down.

I remember renting Jumping Flash and enjoying it, but not really getting it, so to speak. But, I thought it was fun and colorful, which is probably why I liked it. Ghost in the Shell was great fun - can't say if I beat it or not, but I know I spent a fair amount of time with it and absolutely loved it.
