"What if David Lynch made a TV show?" Shockingly, it happened in the early '90s, and the American public couldn't help but gawk at the surreal antics of Agent Dale Cooper and the quirky citizens of Twin Peaks. And while we sadly never saw an official video game adaptation, Lynch's two-season series inspired quite a number of video games—especially in Japan, where Twin Peaks acted as an absolute phenomenon. On this episode, join Bob Mackey, Jeremy Parish, Diamond Feit, and Shane Bettenhausen as the crew explores the world of a cozy Pacific Northwest Town that just happens to feature a few brutal murders. (Note: This podcast is best enjoyed with a slice of cherry pie and some damn good coffee.)

Great episode! I’m excited to hear your thoughts about the Return at some point, no spoilers from me but Part 8 is one of the most insane and wonderful things I’ve ever watched and I still think about the ending to it like once a week, mainly due to this feeling of dread (not Metroid) that I felt while watching it and still feel whenever I think about it, like something went horribly wrong. It’s really incredible stuff!

Glad Woodcutters From Fiery Ships got a shout out! What did get missed was the Twin Peaks game that *could* have happened turned into The 7th Guest - Devine and Landeros both discuss how they pitched it as a Twin Peaks game based around Clue(do). When everyone has caught up on The Return, I’d love to hear a revisit - especially as so much game history can be seen in it, from Myst imagery to the fact the Dougie Jones arc is basically an FMV adventure like Phantasmagoria (you even see the cursor and interact icons!). The whole series is almost the Twin Peaks game we never got!
