How do you follow up a game like Silent Hill 2? While the first Silent Hill sequel swerved off course and seemed to establish the series as an anthology, Silent Hill 3 took the form of a secret (now extremely spoiled) direct sequel to the first game. And while it doesn't quite have the same emotional impact as 2—and often dives too deep into needless lore—there's still something special about what many consider to be the end of Silent Hill. On this episode, join Bob Mackey, VoidBurger, and Bob as the crew once again explores the foggy streets of this forsaken resort town.

Faux Macho

I have a quarterly game club with friends and SH3 was chosen in March 2020. I grabbed the copy from my local game store in what turned out to be my last non-essential purchase for quite some time. Honestly being stuck in my home alone playing it was a pretty similar experience to if I had picked it up as a teen in the 2000s - hello fellow latchkey kids.

Silent Hill 2 was also my entry point. Then SH 3, SH 1, and SH 4 if memory serves. The games were so scary to me at the time that I had to "preview" what comes next by reading the gamefaq walkthroughs of sections first before playing. Did anyone else do this?
