Yes, it's another episode in which we revisit a topic from long ago... in this case, it's a topic that stretches all the way back to the very beginning of the Retronauts podcast: Metroid! Enjoy an hour and a half of in-depth discussion of the 2D Metroid games in this episode that's been sitting on the back burner for a surprisingly long time.

Description: Jeremy, Bob, and IGN's Jose Otero revisit a subject dear to their hearts: Nintendo's Metroid series. It's the only Metroid podcast in 2015 that does't complain about Federation Force! (Because it was recorded before E3.)

This is our last full-sized episode of the year. Enjoy the show, and happy whatever holiday you prefer to celebrate in the coming weeks!

Super excited for this topic. Metroid is actually one of those weird dead spots in my own video game history; I played the very first one on NES, but then never played another until Super Metroid, not on the SNES but on Wii Virtual Console. The style of game which takes half its name from Metroid has always been one of my favourite genres, but the actual series itself has largely eluded me for some reason.

Metroid II is underrated. Sounds like some of ya'll have barely given it a chance. It's pure Metroid exploration. The soundtrack is experimental still.
