Hey folks, we've been getting a bit of feedback from those who signed up for the $5 tier after it went live last week. It turns out some previous episodes were missing for patrons accessing our exclusive RSS feed at the $5 level. I've went and checked all of our posted episodes against what's available in the RSS feed, and they should all be there now for $5 patrons. If not, please unsubscribe and resubscribe, and they'll appear in your exclusive Patreon RSS feed.

Just a few more things to clarify before the revamp happens:

  • If you want to access the Friday episodes starting this Friday (1/3), you will need to be signed up at a tier that's $5 or higher.
  • If you are a $5 patron, you will receive early access Monday episodes and exclusive access to Friday episodes via the same Patreon RSS feed.
  • If you have any problems with your private RSS feed, try unsubscribing and resubscribing. (That usually does the trick.)

And one minor thing I just discovered: for technical reasons, the Patron RSS feed only goes back to June of 2015. This is a technical issue with Patreon, and not something we can fix—it likely has something to do with the way Patreon handled podcasts before it offered RSS feeds, which was not ideal. The good news is all of these posts are still available with the files intact if you want to listen to episodes from the first six months of our Patreon. (These episodes are also available on our Libsyn page, along with all of the other episodes we produced pre-Patreon.)

Thanks for your support, and let me know if you have any questions!

I'm still subscribed to the 6$ tier. Do I have to do anything (to access the backer exclusive episodes)?

Now I've "joined the 5$ tier". That reminded me, the zine PDFs that were completed were distributed via email, weren't they?

From the original post: "We realize there are still some outstanding rewards (including T-shirts and printed books), and Jeremy is committed to taking care of these items within the first quarter of 2020. We'll be sure to keep everyone updated, and we apologize for the delay"

I un-subbed / re-subbed to the RSS feed in pocketcasts and now I've lost access to last Monday's podcast as well as approximately every second podcast.

It sounds like it must be a problem with your app, then. I'm currently subscribed at the $5 level for testing reasons and all the Patreon podcasts are available to me, and no one else has reported this issue.

I checked again and suddenly everything's back except for the most recent one. I'll wait longer, I guess it was just a patreon/pocketcasts glitch with the changeover. Thanks for the great podcasts, you guys rock!

This is going to seem ridiculous, probably. I've been a patron for a few years. I use iTunes and a classic ipod. I download episodes from itunes. I have no idea if ive been missing episodes for patrons or whatever---im not worried about that. BUT---i dont use RSS, dont have a smartphone. Yeah. Im that Retro. I dont listen to podcasts on the computer. I need a way to download the episodes. THE QUESTION: is there some simple answer as to how i can DOWNLOAD actual files of the exclusive episodes? I just signed up for my first "RSS" feeder (google feeder?) but i dont really understand any of this. I basically want to download the episodes, drop them in itunes, and into Ipod, done. Is that possible? Sorry for the ignorance. I dont really get what RSS is, but it seems like it is for smartphones and computer/online use. Cant seem to find the Download File link.......thanks either way! Big fan! /// Seems like i solved it, i think i added an "RSS private feed" (??) to itunes. Sorry for my ignorance. I just dont really understand this. Itunes is painful enough for me.

You can find some simple walkthroughs online (and on Patron) regarding how to use your private RSS feed, but every podcast post contains a link directly under the title that will allow you to download the MP3 file. You can also add your private RSS feed to iTunes/Apple Podcasts and download them that way.

At the time of writing the most recent one was the Video Game Apparel episode, but as of now both it and the Hitchhiker's episode are present. So looks like it's all sorted.

I use iCatcher and the "Add Missing Episodes" did the trick for me after no luck for awhile. Finally looking forward to a backlog.
