Jeremy: This one has been in the works for a while, and now... it has finally happened. There's a lot to be said about the Shin Megami Tensei series and its spinoffs, but before we tackle those games, I felt we needed to lay the groundwork by touching on the Famicom adventures that set the series into motion. Before it was Shin, it was just Megami Tensei. I have summoned my familiars (read: guest panelists) this episode to help walk us through the multimedia origins of MegaTen. The book! The cartoon! The other games! The RPGs that inspired it! Thrill to this dive into the origins of one of gaming's liveliest role-playing franchise and the unsavory embittered nerd who passed for its initial protagonist! A good time is guaranteed for all (except anyone who gets on Loki's bad side).

Cover art note: I had a period-appropriate cover illustration in mind for this episode, but right before I sat down to draw it last night, my drawing hand got wrecked by fire ants. It sucks!! I'll save it for the Shin Megami Tensei episode.
