Lingering Affection - Prologue 1: Suspended Snow (Patreon)

Sorry this took so long to finish. I was more burned out than I realized after everything I did in October. I was previously thinking of doing prologue 2 as well this month (there's only two prologues, it'll be chapter one after that), but I'm concerned that these are so far off from the content I normally deliver, combined with wanting to have more time to further develop ideas, I have changed my mind. I'm going to do a more normal, horny story for the second story this month, and I've already drawn up an outline that I like so that should not take long and I believe I can still have it out before the end of the month, even if it might be a little rough around the edges.

More importantly, about this story: as mentioned, it's different from my usual, both in content, tone, and in production. To start, there's no suiting in this story. It won't come up until chapter 1 at earliest, and while it will be important, it won't be the central focus of the series. I wanted to jump right into chapter 1, but felt it better to set some things up with some prequel stories. They help me learn, develop, and introduce the characters more organically. I'm not sure how expansive it will be in full - I have a strong concept for the beginning, some ideas I want to hit along the way, and the themes I want to address by the end, but am still working on stuff. My very early estimates that are almost certainly going to be wrong put the total scope at about 4 or 5 chapters after the two prologues.

If I had more lenience with scheduling, I'd take at least a few month to even a year to fully plan out everything in a way that would draw out it's full potential. Due to time, I've gone over this story for basic editing in time for this publication, but I'm planning to allow myself to retroactively make revisions to this and potentially other parts as ideas come together in later chapters, so it may be worth re-reading these in the future. Even the series title isn't set in stone yet, if I'm being honest. I'll make a note or announcement if I add or change anything really important.

Ideally, this is something I'd sit and really let build and develop and plan for months, if not a full year before I really start putting words down. But I've been sitting on the core concept since around 2017 and in that time, I just haven't been able to really coalesce things in that way, while still juggling other creative and non-creative responsibilities. So I've decided that producing an imperfect version is still better than never producing any version of this story at all.
