A little something to remind all of my neighbors to the north that winter doesn't last forever.

Around 75 percent of the buildings throughout the five boroughs of NYC were constructed before 1960.  Central air conditioning didn't really become a thing until later that same decade and most New Yorker's (those who can afford them) rely upon window A/C units to cool their tiny apartments.  Well, that is until the usual mid-summer brownouts come or their cheapo A/C unit quits working.

Side note: Apparently being struck and killed by falling air conditioning units is a thing there.

Susan, a Manhattan resident, beats the heat the best she knows how.  While the kids are outside uncapping fire hydrants...up go the window, out come the cool drinks, and off come the clothes.  :D
