A couple of years ago there was a theory floating around that Helen Parr and Aunt Cass (from Big Hero 6) were related, but Disney has all but debunked it.  With that said, they are both Disney animated films, so the likelihood of some of the production designers working on both films is pretty likely.

Sisters?  Nope, more like doppelgängers.

 ...and yes, another one added to the coloring pile.  :D

Well it stands to reason that the same animators are likely to work on more than one project for Disney so there are definitely going to be "template" features to the animated characters coming out of the same production companies, unless you hire new animators, it's like that old saying, "well they all look alike to me". So it does make for interesting call backs when you watch something more than once.

Well, I do live within ear-shot of the house of mouse, so I've known my fair share of industry people over the years...though mostly graphic arts guys. By their own admission, they pretty much do the same thing that I do...cannibalize from other (used or unused) projects which in turn cuts their workload by a significant factor. Animators (digital or old school) do pretty much the same. As the old saying goes: work smart, not hard. ...and by ear-shot I mean I can quite literally hear the fireworks from the house of mouse every other night.
