KT Tunstall is one of my favorite singers, highly underrated (at least in Canada), and although this song as been covered and done to death I will never forget watching her live performance on Later... with Jools Holland in 2004. Completely blew my mind the way she built the song from the ground up. Her voice, her look, the fact she wrote songs and played guitar - I was hooked. Given it was my introduction to her incredible writing and artistry, I had to give it a go. While I may not have the same emotional connection to this one as I do to "Suddenly I See", there's no denying this song is a fuckin' bop. After this one, I'm taking a small break from cover songs until next month. I hope you like it!
