How to ADHD

A lot of people are asking if they are accidentally gaslighting others. Gaslighting doesn't require an intent to make someone feel "crazy" or gaslight them, but it does require an intent to manipulate. It is emotional abuse. Often, gaslighters target people who have low self esteem and are quick to doubt themselves ("wait -- am I the problem?) That said, it can feel like gaslighting even if it's not. And this can be common in neurodiverse relationships. Someone might feel as if they are being gaslit by an autistic partner, for example -- but this article explains how it's different (and why it still matters): https://www.goodtherapy.org/blog/is-it-still-gaslighting-if-my-partner-has-aspergers-0311194#:~:text=The%20fact%20is%20that%20I,be%20if%20intent%20were%20there.

I’ve been gaslighted, consistently for 7 years. Looking forward to watching your video. It’s nice to finally be away from that situation, but it affects you life. I still second guess myself as matter of habit. Retraining the brain is taking years. Thanks brain! 🙏🏻🧠

Oof, that's relatable. I was stuck in mine for a long time as well and I'm in the same boat. Still trying to work on it.... still second guess myself out of habit. 🧡 - Harley, Community Manager
