I like that this vlog fits perfectly into your latest video on routines. Developing a routine to get yourself into the mood to work sounds great. Watching this video, I just realized that I also have a routine to convince myself to work on things, but never realized it. It's cool to discover something new about how my brain works.

Yea I am struggling with a schedule as well. So this is tremendously relatable. Trying to define what i want to do is a challenge, i remember you had those cards with like a description, how much time it will take,etc...i need to get on that track. see if that works

I work in IT and have worked at companies that have let me work from home. I noticed a couple of things working those jobs. One was always being at the computer because I wanted to make sure I was available so I could keep the privilege of working from home. Two was hyper focusing on tasks and putting more work in a day than normal because there was no distractions. I had to force myself to get up and take a break or get lunch. One of the biggest issues I found and this also applied to jobs were I did not have to dress up for work. The basic act of changing from work cloths to blue jeans was a sub conious mental change that I was going from “work mode” to “personal mode”. I would highly recommend something that is a mental trigger that you are in “work mode” and “non-work mode”. Some sort of transition of some sort, you had it when you had your other job. It sounds as you have a good grasp already on the concept, with taking care of things that need to be done that will distract you when you see them. It takes discipline and setting up a good routine to work from home. My ex-wife always throught that when I worked from home I could take of things around the house. It did not work that way and after going around over it, I actually backed down on the number of days I worked from home.

I loved this vlog. I also work from home, and I find it really helpful to hear what works for other people. Thank you!
