Definitely two characters getting together that I don't want. Kinda like watching season after season of Friends! It's okay if it takes two people to find their way to one another, but I hope they do in the end! The fun is the drama until they get there.

This was lightly discussed in the group chat lol

My question for you is, have you changed the story from your original plan? I know some artists change their story-lines depending on popular reaction, as well as their own changing preferences, while other artists have it all planned out ahead of time and basically are just drawing it to completion.

Tsarin

My vote was less "I think this will happen" and more "I hope it doesn't!"

Zac

All these are undesirable, but a great many comics of both internet and print publication have failed due to a plot becoming too busy and undirected - Sefeiren's many attempts, for example, among others. Yes, a character death or unfortunate coupling would distort the storyline, but a fizzling plot has proved irreconcilable in many cases.

Jackaloo

At the beginning, yes, but that’s because I was transitioning from a ten page comic to a nearly 70 page one haha I needed to expand on all fronts. However, the basic core of the story was created back then and what will happen will happen. I’m sticking to it. All I hope is that readers trust me to have it make sense and work with the story.

I would say when the story is done, the artist knows it s done, the fans know the series should have ended, but it just keeps on going past its prime and becomes a shell of itself

I think we will be a few to be quite frustrated to see two characters together that we would not hope, and therefore, to see one of the two protagonists on the side ... A bit as if all this developmmeent had not served. It would be a little unfair and very sad. The death of a character can be interesting if it is well brought and well treated. And an ambiguous end would be just enough bastard for us readers even if I know that many sadistic authors love this ... Personally I hate. Unless it brings a purpose or a reflection. I really like the idea of a conspiracy that could be quite ambitious but you really have to do it at the level of the background. But hey, whatever you do, I'll follow you to the end, you've take my kokoro with this comics and I'm ready to accept everything (or almost ...)

Kilo Rat

I really liked Emery & Andy as a couple, since I'm in a similar situation, so I hope they don't just give up.

Walrus Royce

It's hard to answer this because this is YOUR story, so I have no right to say what I don't want to see happen in it. Even in light of Cooper's past, I still prefer Andy and Emery more (Emery most of all), but praying he won't do some evil 180 of some kind. :( I wouldn't be surprised if Emery and Andy didn't get together by the end, but I do hope that Emery will get SOMEBODY. (Maybe a Patreon bonus of "your character gets to be Emery's new love"? Id love to see my walrus character be with him!) Anyways I'm sure that some painful drama is coming, but I hope it won't overshadow happier moments... but again, don't listen to me. I'm hypersensitive to EVERYTHING. Excellent job on everything you do, no matter how it turns out. *big walrus hugs*

EgoSaber

I hate short stories It feels like the author hasn’t put too much thoughts on it from the beginning

MeekoWolf

Now why would you be asking something like that...? I smell an evil plan brewing...

Rourkie

Does a lack of more chubby characters count as "other"? I'm... asking for a friend. >.>

Missing cats in your all dog world! Lol

My biggest fear is that you, the artist, burns themselves out and forgets to appreciate all of the hard work they've done up to this point. This might kind of come off as Kiss-Ass-ish, but I mean it as seriously as possible. I don't want you to dread or feel obligated to write this comic! So long as you are having fun, enjoying the direction the characters or plot is going, and not allowing this project to consume you to the point it's become a chore, the product will shine through! Not one of the curve balls above will leave me dissatisfied or fills me with fear! It's apart of the writing process! And DRAMA/ PLOT TWISTS ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N3Uk8Y5km8 )

Character growth and evolution is important to me. The characters can be even more important than the overall plot in plenty of circumstances. For me, if the theme gets ruined because the protagonist ends up permanently mismatched with a character that makes things feel wrong or awkward, it can make me wince. It wouldn’t make me hate things, but it can really detract a lot from my overall feelings of the direction the story took.

Emery and Andy forever. I don’t want Andy with Cooper, I don’t want it happen because Cool says “sorry for it all” no he’s had so many chances and has treated Andy too bad he doesn’t deserve him

At this point I see the story developing towards Andy and Coop being together, but I hope not, because so far the story and character development haven't justified it. Cooper is still moody, ungrateful, and unlikeable. I sympathize with his position; he can't admit to other people, much less himself, his true feelings for Andy. But his character would need to do a complete 180 for readers to forgive his actions so far, and that move would, I think, be an impossible feat for you as the creator to pull off convincingly. If Andy at some point soon jettisons from Emery, into some form of relationship with Cooper, who has been nothing but a moody bitch so far (and by so far, I mean since they were kids...), it would be a disappointment.

Plot fizzle and too much ambiguity are obvious. I'd hate to see this comic fizzle out or not end properly given how well it's been done thus far. But I want to explain why my third answer is character death. I'm really scared for Cooper. I can understand why a lot of people's level of dislike ranges from general irritation to flat out hatred, but I want to speak in defense of him. I don't hate Cooper. I don't even dislike Cooper. It's really hard to hate Cooper when Cooper hates himself so much. I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone reading this that all of his issues stem from the events of Summer's Gone. The slug event is the start of it all, where not only do his friends pressure him into being a dick to Andy, but his father shows some amount of pride for what he did because Andy is gay. From a young age, he's told that homosexuality is straight up wrong and deserves to be punished. Now, I hear the anti-apologists saying, "But that doesn't excuse his behaviour!" And to an extent, I agree. But I think people underestimate just how much a parent's influence can mess you up in your younger years, often in ways you don't even understand. Cooper's dad sets up a sort of logical switch in Cooper's mind that is consistent throughout the rest of his life: being a dick will get you love. Being an alcoholic, a likely pill junkie, and possibly somewhat abusive, it's not difficult to think that Cooper didn't get a lot of love from his father. But something happens between the slug event, and the scene in high school. There's a shift in Cooper that is explained during Cooper's speech: "A son can be disappointed in an alcoholic father without loving him like a son should. Regardless of love, you can still hope they'll be good, but... then you're let down." In this line we can infer that Cooper has realized that his father's behaviour is wrong. That's a huge thing for Cooper, given how influential his father turns out to be in younger years. And this is where Cooper's fight begins. I could go through all of Summer's Gone and analyze every scene to explain how it all affected Cooper and made him how he is today, but that would take a long time. But why I don't hate Cooper is for this reason: by all rights, he should hate Andy. But he doesn't. He doesn't do anything to hurt him intentionally, he just doesn't understand how else to show love. Andy is the only person who has ever shown him any amount of compassion or understanding, from what we've seen. Andy is the only person who can even begin to understand who Cooper really is. But Cooper can't be emotionally vulnerable with Andy and Andy doesn't understand why because Andy has never had to deal with the hardships that Cooper has. Andy, even if he was picked on for being gay, is completely comfortable with his sexuality. He's got a solid job, and he's now banging the boss who is a gentleman and in every way supportive. Andy currently can't understand Cooper because Andy doesn't see how much Cooper hates himself. Or rather, Cooper won't let him see. Cooper is destroying himself trying to fight his demons while Andy is living the life Cooper wishes he had. And yeah, Cooper's life sucks because of his own actions, but again, Cooper actually can't grasp how to change things without accepting everything he is - an idea that is so abhorrent to him because of his now deceased father. He can't hate his father anymore. He can't blame him for his problems. So he's turned it on himself instead. And my biggest fear is that Cooper will destroy himself before Andy or anyone else can help him. It won't be Andy's fault, but it sure as hell isn't Cooper's either. But if anyone can save Cooper from himself, it's Andy. He just needs to look a little harder. And that's why I want Coop x Andy so badly. Not for Andy. Andy's got everything he needs. But for Cooper.

Jackaloo

For what it's worth, the story isn't changing haha I was just curious!

Tenyo

You’re only angry because you know it would be fun! ;3

Rourkie

Lol, thanks for the heads up. Was mostly a joke comment, but I'm happy to hear it!

Rourkie

Also gonna take this time to tell you how much I've enjoyed everything so far, and that I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone here when I say we appreciate all the work that you put into your craft. Thank you for sharing your world with us.

Wow, really great job, and it echos a lot of how I feel. I wish I had it in me lately to go this in-depth like I used to. I said the wrong characters ending up together for the same reason, but I can totally understand the fear that Cooper's self-destructive behavior could be the death of him. Andy and Cooper complement each other so well, but Cooper sabotaged everything subconsciously (or maybe even consciously), out of fear, and nothing has been the same since. I really hope Cooper is finally at the point of recognizing AND accepting his true feelings, as seemed to be hinted when he made that phone call, as well as his internal monologue in the prior scene.

I can totally understand where you're coming from. Cooper did had issues with his father and all of his terrible choices in his past, but then once he went to the bar, and saw Gary, I realized something. Cooper mentioned that his dad died, and that he said "It's not so much the dead that fuck me up nowadays anyway." Then he went on to ramble about how people live with unfinished business. In my opinion this could be two things, One being he never was able to say anything to his father before he passed, or Two, Andy still being part of his life/in his thoughts even though they haven't talked in a while. Although, Cooper is referring more towards Andy as he says, "Then tell me what's wrong-...-and I'm not supposed to do a damn thing about it!" Referring to Andy, I presume. So then, Gary then asks about Chelsea, and how Cooper and her are doing, but Cooper mentions 'someone' else, referring to Andy, as 'she' then we flash back to Cooper visiting Andy in the dead of night. Bringing up the relationship with Andy again, and how he wishes he could've been nicer to him, if it weren't for their past. Thus furthering the whole self hate thing about Cooper.

Buuut, you guys do not loose track of what we are talking about, right? For it seems some of us are a bit out of proportion. Hating a fictional chraracter that is mean to an other ficChar... The girl irritates me the most for she feels like only exist to be around, "supportive character"? While mr Wolfe has a much more indeath... indeaph..., much more flushed out personality and mr corporationowner has a few things hidden in his basement. Furthermore you can'´t have it all and i´d be willing to "sacrifice" a core character if it benefits "the plot", even go as far as to Cooper/Waldren. That is my perspective and should by no means be an indicator of any kind, good day to all of you guys ans be safe ^.~

Frank Weber

What a fun it would be, for the girl to die and the three boys to make out and start a threeway relationship ^_^
