You guys seem to really like it when I break down my process and share each step with you!

So here is another WIP of a piece for @Ponco !


As you can see, all my sketches always start out super rough, lots of scribbling. Lots of lines.

When the lines feel a little overwhelming, I try to simplify by blocking in colors and 'multiple layers' when conveying depth.


After that, in the second image, I feel like there needs to be more OOMPH. So I paint the oomph on top to add more squish!


Once that's done, and I feel like I've narrowed things down better, I go in and do the inks/clean lines and the flat colors!



Now all that is left is doing the full rendering for the piece!~
