UPDATE: 2024-JUNE-22 (VERSION: 7.4 Build_20240622)

New build. This time it's just some teeny-tiny bugfixes.

It's also has been elevated from early access to general release, so download it from here.

UPDATE: 2024-JUNE-21 (VERSION: 7.4 Build_20240621)

Updated the framework, nothing much new compared to the one 4 days ago, just some small bugfixes and fine-tunings; plus I added back some trailers and ads that were temporarily removed in previous versions.

Sadly, I had to make some changes to the CineMinis figurines yet again, so...

Original post: 2024-JUNE-16

Helloooo!

A new test version of the mod is here! It's mostly focused on the figurine collecting aspect, with some "quality of life" improvements, a bunch of sweet new special figurines to collect, and even some secrets too...

So let's get into it, and see... What's New:

New Festival Specific Figurines to collect

To celebrate the upcoming summer festival season, I've added 8 new special "festival themed" CineMinis figurines to the game.

These figurines can not be found by opening CineMinis boxes, but can be only acquired by visiting their respective festivals, and outright purchasing them from the festival specific swag vendor stands (the one with the T-shirs hanging at the front) - or in case of the three Mt. Komorebi festivals - from the festival specific vending machines (the one which you can buy the festival specific clothing from) for §500 each.

Here's the list of the new figurines, and where you can get each of them:

  • Taylor Stiffed - Sim Sessions Music Festival (Willow Creek)

  • Cindy Rotique - Romance Festival (San Myshuno - EP03 City Living)

  • Steph the Chef - Spice Festival (San Myshuno - EP03 City Living)

  • Blossom Rivers - Humor & Hijinks Festival (San Myshuno - EP03 City Living)

  • James "the Horny Video Game Nerd" Dorke - GeekCon Festival (San Myshuno - EP03 City Living)

  • AKEMI - Festival of Light (Mt. Komorebi - EP10 Snowy Escape)

  • Jenny Wong - Festival of Snow (Mt. Komorebi - EP10 Snowy Escape)

  • Yuki Matsu - Festival of Youth (Mt. Komorebi - EP10 Snowy Escape)

" ... but Peco, I don't have the City Living and/or Snowy Escape DLC! Does that mean, there's no way I can acquire these figurines? whaaaaa....! 😭 "

No-no-no... Don't worry my dear, I thought about you as well!
Let me show you a new special item...

The Golden Coupon

The Golden Coupon is a new special item that can be exchanged to any CineMinis figurines of your choice; so it's especially useful if you wanna get your hands on those last couple of rare figurines that you're still missing, or it can even be used to get one of the new Festival Exclusive figurines without having the hassle of visiting the actual festival.

The coupon can be redeemed either by clicking on it, then selecting Redeem Coupon from the pie menu, or by selecting the desired figurine from the Collection Tracker,  then clicking on the Buy with Golden Coupon button at the bottom.

Note: Golden Coupons can only be found by opening CineMinis boxes.

New Collection Tracker improvement: Filtering

To make navigating in the Collection Tracker a bit more bearable, I've added a new Filtering option.
This can be accessed by clicking on the Filter results option at the top of the list, then select your filtering criteria(s) - by rarity, or series - then click on the Show filtered results button at the top.

Note: The filtering is at a bit of an experimental stage at the moment, and works on a non exclusive <OR> basis; so for example if you select "Common" rarity and "Basic Series", then it will show ALL figurines that fits EITHER options.

Rest of the new stuff:

Mass CineMinis box opening option

Added a new option to the CineMinis boxes that allows you to open 10 boxes at once, thus speeding up the tedious opening process. To access it, click on a bundle of at least 10 CIneMinis boxes, then select Open 10 Boxes from the pie menu.

Note: This feature is only available for CineMinis boxes that are in the sims' personal inventory.

New display cases and stands

Added some new display stands and cases that I specifically made for displaying figurines.
They can be bought from Build Buy > Decorations > Clutter, for §22 - §24 each.

I especially recommend the Graded Figurine Display Cases. I think they are pretty sweet!... You can even move the figurine around inside them for perfect positioning.

Note: There's a game bug that in case you have the bb.moveobjects cheat turned ON could result the figurines placed on these stands/cases to be deleted when you make changes to architecture that "collides" with them.
For example: let's say you have a display case put on a wall shelf with a figurine in it. Now, if you try to change the wallpaper in the room, it will highlight the figurine as an intersecting object, and it will get deleted if you go through with the changes.
This is a game bug that's been there forever, so, yeah, it is what it is. But at least you can avoid this issue by turning bb.moveobjects OFF while you're changing the wallpapers, then you can just turn it back on afterwards.

Figurine Scaling

Perhaps the simplest of new functions, I've added a simple little option to scale figurines. Just click on a figurine, select Scale Object, then select your desired scaling rate.

Note: I know you can already scale objects by using the square brackets 😀... but it only goes in doubles, and this one can go x1.5, x3 and proper matching "lifesize" as well.

... I've also added some new Super Secret Hidden Treasures  as well... but my lips are sealed on that, you have to find them yourselves. 😋

Finally...

While this mod version - as usual - will be released for free on other platforms as well in the coming days, I would really appreciate if in the meantime you could give it a try...
I tested it quite a lot while working on it in the past couple weeks, but there could always be circumstances that I can't account for, so if you find a bug, or in general you think that something is not working the way you think it should, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! :)

oh, there's one more important thing:

Due to the new features added to them,
ALL FIGURINES YOU ALREADY HAVE NEEDS TO BE RE-DOWNLOADED AND UPDATED!

Note: the changes I made to the figurines are only coding level stuff + some extra tagging, so don't worry, your existing collection will not disappear from the game, they will just gain new functionalities! 😀

Thank you for your time reading all this, have fun, and happy simming!

I must admit to a bit of panic reading that the mini's had to be reacquired, until I read the next sentence. lol Thank you for saving a fraction of my sanity. I don't have much left after all. lmao
