My nine-year-old iMac is dying by inches. I will need to get a new computer soon.

I'm considering moving away from Mac, even though I love them.

My brother is looking for a desktop computer that will be good for my purposes and not break my budget, but suggestions are welcome. I already have a good PC laptop, which I will spend today setting up as a backup for Daisy here.

Unfortunately, this will make the next episodes of my serials late, almost certainly. Hard Way was scheduled to go up today but is not finished due to yesterday being a waste, and today is probably a wash. I'll try to have it up by Monday.

SFX would have been next, then Pete. I'll try not to be more than two or three days off schedule. I've been putting up three or four episodes a week of SOMETHING all during September, and I don't want to break the string. If your favorite serial is a bit late, please understand.

Oh, Quillian has only seven more pages, but they are all done. I may advance Q in the rotation, so I have something to post. And I've been doing a poll once a week, so I may do a few extra polls.

Hugs,
Erin

Erin me & a friend could build you a PC. Parts alone with HDD, Mother board processor ram & graphics card with a case your looking at about $2-$5k plus shipping cost.

Erin is lucky in that she's a software person surrounded by hardware geeks :) So many of us have offered to help her, but in the end I think she made the right choice for her needs with the system she got.

Second Mac mini as a solid path forward, but so would an iPad, which will connect to keyboard, mouse, etc. Going PC is fairly easy these days, lots of app crossover, and Windows 11 is quite Mac-like. Frame.work is a good choice for longevity.
