I went to a walk-in VA mental health check in.

She says I'm doing OK. That what's happening is normal considering all the shocks and hits I've taken the last few months. There was a few more things, but basically, I'm OK and she's actually pretty happy with what's going on with me.

The big one was I didn't crawl into the bottle.

So, a week of taking it easy then check in with her.

Spend time with the family and friends.

Do things that I used to. Reconnect with friends that are waiting for me to come back because they know me.

Destress. Let everything process.

I'm OK.

And I'll be back as soon as I get my shit together.

Take a break? Easy. De-stress? Much tougher. The bottle is an "easy" outlet, given the issues you have over the last few months. Not good tho. Enjoy the break, take time to be with the family, do a couple of "summer" fun things. Your extended family/friends will still be here and will wait for your healthy return. We owe you, big time.
